Naomi had thought that when she walked into the lion's den that she would be shaking in fear but when she arrived anger took over to replace it. She brushed past the guards and walked up to Starkson's desk,
"A lot of visitors this month," he muttered, "It's a wonder how one can get any work done, I do have a multi-billion dollar Facility I'm trying to run in an underground barrack-."
"Lisa's sick," Naomi hissed.
He sat in silence for a second, took off his glasses, then drew a breath, "That's impossible."
"No, it's not impossible because she's currently locked up in a lab while they try to find out how she got sick. Do you want to know what they found in the samples? According to them, the materials in that…concoction don't exist. Which means either the computer is wrong or they don't exist at this moment which means they exist in the past or the future; more likely the latter and the only people that can go in between the past and future is time travelers."
"How fast did you put that together?" he asked in amusement.
"And you have a record on every time traveler that ever existed. Or rather you should since you're supposed to have extensive records on everyone that you inject. You have a time traveler playing with chemicals that they shouldn't be playing with. That makes YOU responsible and so YOU need to fix it."
"I'm sure to get right on it, we can't have Lisa dying of something that we have no control of," He stopped and smirked, "There might be one little condition of course…"
Was he really going to do this now of all times? "I know about Joseph's deal with you concerning me and I can tell you that's not going to happen."
"Then why should I help you?"
"I will NOT cooperate with you. And you can try and twist my arm behind my back to get me to help you by hanging Lisa's life over my head but after what you did by holding me in a Facility? That's not going to work. You'll lose your bargaining chip if she dies."
"And what will happen if I don't help you? You'll kill me? I honestly don't think you'd do it. You're not the type yet."
"No," Naomi leaned against the desk, "But David is, as is my father, and so is Robert Eisley."
He tensed, "Eisley?"
"Oh didn't you know? You're getting slow old man. He's at the docks as well. And I imagine they can think of all kinds of things to do to you without ending your life. I am more than happy to get one less stressful thing out of the way and trust me you're at the top of that list. As far as I'm concerned this is your problem and if you don't want it spiraling out of control then you will cooperate. I have a feeling you want an outbreak about as much as I do. That's what we're looking at if we can't get this under control. Fix this. Now."
She turned and walked out. As soon as she cleared the door, she let out a terrified breath. She just realized what she'd done.
"Well done," David said as he followed her. He had stood guard outside the door while she confronted him.
"Not yet," Naomi muttered, "I don't know if I got his cooperation or not."
"Well then, what's next?" David asked.
She hadn't thought this far ahead. She honestly thought that this meeting would end with a lot of gunfire when they tried to catch her. "What do you think we should do?"
"No, this is your plan."
Naomi stopped him, "What are you talking about? I can't do this!"
"You're going to have to learn some time."
"People's lives depend on this plan."
"People's lives are going to depend on you eventually, there's no harm in throwing you in now and seeing if you sink or swim."
"I'm going to sink!"
"No, I think you're doing well so far."
"Walking into the evil guy's lair isn't doing well, it's suicidal!"
"Evil guy's lair?" He mocked, "Seriously?"
"I hate you," Naomi hissed.
"You didn't bring me with you because you liked me. You brought me with you because you knew I wouldn't hold anything back. Now, we don't have time for this, Lisa's dying. What is the plan now?"
Naomi took a few breaths, "We need to make sure that he's going to go through with this. I think we should stay."
"Alright," he said, "I've only been here once but I'm pretty sure I can remember the way to the break room.
Naomi looked at the guards that walked up and down the hallway, "Keep your gun ready."

Starkson folded his hands together and looked at Anna, "Start making some calls."
She stood, "Yes sir."
"And tell team 8 to get ready for the order 92 to come down."
Anna stopped, "Sir? At a time like this?"
He clenched his hands so tightly in his lap that they were turning white, "I will not have a little girl running around issuing me ultimatums whenever something goes wrong. It shows a sign of weakness. She is getting out of control and she's risking exposing herself and the others. I think it's about time that we start getting control of her again, yes?"
"Sir, with all due respect. You need to remember who she is."
"She can't destroy this place as long as you are muffling her ability," he reminded her.
"I'm not talking about who she is as far as abilities go; I'm talking about who she is to you."
That stung. Starkson closed his eyes and drew a breath, "That woman in there is not my mother, not yet. When you're done authorizing that order, call James and have him get two cells ready. And let him know to be prepared because we might have more visitors soon."
