"When the world says, 'Give up,' Hope whispers, 'Try it one more time.'"
~Unknown~
I am a creature of Habit
Afraid to travel to different places
I feel uncomfortable trying new things
So it seemed like a huge task to try to break away
But I still tried
I spread my wings and started to fly
I flew high until Self-Esteem came
She took a hold of my wings, cutting off their ability to flap
And ran me to the ground
I lay on the ground
Until Determination helped me
Back up like an old friend
I jumped up and soared high
Then Confidence hit me, causing everything to seem hard and scary
And I fell back to where I had started
Determination had been watching
Once again she helped me up
This time I got a running start
I was so close when I started
Asking questions about Future: What will happen next?
Then Worry came the hardest
She started kicking and punching me
I fell to the ground, landing in a hole this time
I just layed there, ready to give up
All my efforts to leave
Now seemed worthless and futile
I felt Despair take hold of me, filling my every pore
Then Hope came and gave me strength
She battled Self-Esteem, Confidence, and Worry for me
I traveled higher and higher
Until I reached the city of Goals and Dreams
