I Pray Not
Author:
Dragonfly Heart PM
A snake could bite me. I could fall and hurt myself. A weird person could kidnap me, rape me and then kill me. I could walk into poisonous plants. Oh, the things that could happen to me while exploring the woods. I pray a prayer that I'm not in any real danger.

I Pray Not

I lie awake in the night.

The day plays in my head,

Over and over like a movie that never ends.

Waiting in excitement for the next day,

Troubles stain my mind.

Oh, the risks I take.

Am I in any real danger?

I pray not.

Am I in any real trouble?

I pray not.
