Owen whirled around as he felt something slipped into his back pocket, it was a Saturday at the soccer fields and he was dragged along to watch his nine-year old sister play. Saturdays were always crowded, people watching games, people walking to and from games, people trying to sell things. Whoever had slipped him something was long gone, reaching into his pocket he drew out a small piece of paper and unfolded it. It had but a simple message, "Meet me underneath the pine." He knew exactly where it was, the only pine tree in the vicinity was a huge one down by the softball fields, Owen looked at the trunk, surrounded by smaller ones, sure enough, there was a flash of blonde hair as a girl in a black soccer jersey ran through the trees. He turned to his mother and made some excuse about one of his friends playing softball down there and that he wanted to go see if he could catch a bit of his game, she nodded and told him to be careful as he ran off. Ducking behind a small building he changed course and headed for the tree. Getting there he yanked his headphones out of his ears, cutting of Steven Tyler mid scream, he looked around "Angel, where are you?"

A young girl with blonde curls and a pretty face dropped from the lowest branch, she smiled, ocean blue eyes sparkling, "I knew you'd come." She was wearing a black soccer jersey with the number 18 on the back, the neckline cut to make it deeper and the sleeves rolled up into a muscle shirt, the bottom was tied with a ponytail around her hips, showing off her figure and a pair of snug shorty-shorts, she had on a pair of tennis shoes, which surprised Owen as she was usually barefoot. What didn't surprise him, however, was the amount of ponytails and silicone bands on her wrists, he knew she loved her rings, each one meant something to her, she had her great-grandmothers ring, and several more that had been in her family for years, but the bands were there for a different reason, the reason why she almost never took them off. Underneath were tiny scars, from all the times life became too much or foster parents were too hard. They didn't even care where she went, her current foster parents, she was pretty much homeless, spending most of her time -especially Saturdays- at the soccer fields. Meeting him, he was the one person she was really friends with, he was the only one that understood her even though he'd never been in that situation.

"Why did you want me to come, you've never asked me before." Owen was worried, they had always had a set routine,he would glance over every once in a while and if he saw her he would come over, he wondered what could have promted the change.

"They're sending me away again, to Boston! I won't be able to make it in Boston, I won't be able to run, or hide, or be free! I can't go to Boston!" she let the tears spill over and Owen pulled her into his arms.

"Shh, hush Angel, you'll be fine," She ignored him and continued sobbing "Daciana Angelique!" The girl looked up, he never callled her by her real name, the one her birth parents had given her right before she was dumped outside Longview, Texas. "You will be fine, everything will work itself out,"

"Ok, but how?"

He shook his head, "I have a plan."

Owen walked back up to his sisters game, it was done, and the girls getting treats, his mother turned to see him. "Oh you missed Jessie's goal! It was- Who is this?" Herr excited tone turned overprotective-motherly and curious.

"Her name's Daciana Angelique, she, uh, she's an orphan, she hangs out around here since her foster parents don't really care about her, I check on her every Thursday and Saturday when Jessie has a game, she pretty much lives in the old pine tree down by the softball fields." Owen explained, "Her foster parents don't want her anymore so she''s going to be shipped to Boston if we don't do something"

"Well we can't have that can we?" She turned to Daciana, "I'm Laura, pleasure to meet you."
