I am struggling. I am frustrated. And I'm in love. In love with a boy who's hundreds of kilometres away with a sleeping problem. And he doesn't even know it. He probably never will.

Chapter 5: Crashing
I quickly hold on to the railing. What's going on? Were we going to crash? Multiple scenarios flashed in my mind. This would be the worse way to die. To me anyway.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are currently experiencing some heavy turbulence due to the storm. We will try to get the plane under control again. Until then, please buckle up. Thank you," the pilot said over the intercom.
Great, thanks, Captain. It's raining and we're about to crash. I should probably go back to my seat. Just when I let go of the railing, we hit a bump. I stumbled before I got a hold of the railing again. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. It's going to be okay, the pilot will get the plane under control and we'll land safely. No reason to panic.
Alright, let's try again. I let go of the railing and unlocked the door. I spot my seat immediatly, just a few meters away. I can do this, I whispered to myself.
"What the bloody hell are you doing?!" I snapped my head to my right, where a stewardess was sitting in her chair. A mixture of worry and irritation covered her features.
"Um, I was in the toilet before the plane lost control," I said. The plane shook violently again.
"Well, what are you doing still standing here? Go back to your seat!" she said harshly. I winced at her tone and ran back to my seat. I buckled up and gripped the arm-rest.
"Where have you been?" Isabelle asked.
"Toilet," I simply said.
"Worst place to be when this happen," she joked.
"No kidding," I chuckled. I was glad I sat next to Isabelle during this time, she managed to take a bad situation and turn it on its side. I looked out of the window, the rain hitting the glass like bullets. Thunder clapped loudly and I felt Isabelle flinch next to me. She was terribly scared of thunder. I covered her hand with mine and smiled reassuringly at her. She smiled back.
Lightning flashed outside the window. I started to doubt our chances on getting out of this alive. I glanced at Isabelle, she was pale and tense. The plane shook again. I shut my eyes and tried to think of something else. I thought of unicorns and rainbows. Yes, I still believe in unicorns. If only I had one...
The pilot's voice snapped me back to reality. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain again. Sorry about the rough flight, but we will be landing soon," he said. I felt the plane dip downward slowly.
I looked out of the window again and saw the runway. I could barely see the lights, imagine being the pilot. The plane touched the runway with a bump. It slowed down and stopped. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. The seatbelt light turned off and I unbuckled. I looked at Isabelle. We laughed.
"Worst-flight-ever!" she said in-between laughs. I nodded. Our laughter died down and we gathered our stuff. We waited for the crowd to disperse before getting up and leaving the plane. We went to collect our bags.
"What a flight," Kelly said.
"I know right? It was bad enough it was raining," Nicole said, grabbing her bag. I nodded and took my bag.
"I guess this is where we say goodbye," I said. Since we all go to different schools, I hugged them individually.
"Bye, I'll miss you," Alicia said.
"Miss you too," I said.
"Bye," Hannah said.
"Bye, Niall," I smiled. She glared at me.
"Gonna miss you," Nicole said.
"You too," I said, "Have fun with Harry."
"You have to remind me of him, don't you?" she waved her hands in the air. I laughed.
"See you next year," Kelly said.
"You too. Don't be late for registration," I said.
"No promises," she said. I rolled my eyes.
"Thank you for comforting me," Isabelle said.
"Anytime," I smiled, "See you next year."
We waved goodbye to each other before going our seperate ways. I met up with my mother, who was talking to Isabelle's mother, at the entrance of the hall.
"Hi, Mum," I smiled.
"Hey, Jamie. Did you have fun?" wow, she said it like I just went to a friend's house. I nodded anyway, stifling a yawn. "Somebody's tired. C'mon, let's go home." I nodded again, following her to the car. It was still raining, so we used an umbrella. Once I got into the car, I drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up, I was in my room and it was eight in the morning. I rubbed my eyes to get the sleep out. I went to take a shower. It was so nice to be home again. Though, I liked the view from Christina's guest room window.
I got out of the bathroom and checked my phone. I logged onto Facebook and found Andrew's page. I quickly sent a friend request. I lingered before closing my phone.
I took out a white tank top and purple jeans shorts from my closet. I was putting my shirt on when my phone buzzed. It was a Facebook notification, Andrew accepted my friend request. I smiled, walking out of my room.
"Morning," I said as I entered the kitchen. My brother, Danial, was there, hunched over a bowl of cereal.
"Morning," he mumbled. I filled my glass with water and drank it.
"Going somewhere?" I asked, acknowledging his outfit. He was wearing jeans and a casual shirt.
"Yeah, meeting up with a few friends," he said, putting his dishes away.
"Ok, well, I'll be filling in the registration papers, anyway," I shrug. Just then, someone honked outside our house.
"That's Lucas. I'll see you in a few hours," he waved before leaving. I heard the front door close before going back to my room. I plugged my iPod into its dock and put it on shuffle. Adele's "Turning Tables" came on. I smiled as I started to fill in the neccesary fields of my registration papers at my desk.
I spent a good couple hours on them before my laptop bleeped. I opened it and saw a Skype request. Someone wanted to video chat with me. Someone named Andrew. I clicked 'Accept' and a familiar face popped up.
"Hey, miss me already?" I smiled. Andrew chuckled.
"Yes," he said.
"Honest guy, you are," I said, "How did you even find me?"
"Hacked into Christina's laptop," he said, shrugging. I giggled. "What are you doing?"
"I was filling in my registration forms," I said.
"Sorry about that," Andrew said.
"It's ok. I'm done anyway. I just need my mum to fill her parts," I said. There was a beat in our conversation, we were just staring at each other. I smiled, he smiled.
I cleared my throat. "So, what time is it there?"
"About, three in the morning," he said, checking his watch.
"Why are you still up?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Not tired," he simply said. I stared him down. He stifled a yawn.
"Not tired, huh?" I said. Andrew shook his head. "Go to sleep, Andrew!" I said, laughing.
"Why?" he wined.
"Because you're a growing boy, you need your sleep!"
"You sound just like my mum!"
"I'll take that as a compliment."
"You should, she's awesome."
"Mummy's boy," I teased. Andrew stuck his tongue out. I laughed as he yawned again. "Go to sleep, will you?"
"Fine, I will, only because you told me too," he said.
"Good night, Andrew," I smiled.
"Good night, Jamie," he smiled back. I ended the video chat. I lied down on my bed. I was still feeling the jet lag from last night. Birdy's "Shelter" lulled me to sleep.
AN: Not my best chapter, honestly...But hey, whatever, it's not like anyone's reading, right?
