Here's a poem I wrote just last night when I couldn't sleep. It's about a young Jewish man who is in exile in Babylon and he's dreaming of the girl he left back home in Bethel. He's longing for her, dreaming of her, and has no clue where she is. For all he knows she could be back in Bethel, or somewhere in Babylon, sold into slavery somewhere else, or worse, dead.

My Heart In Bethel
I seal my promise with a kiss,
beautiful one
I will follow you and cling to you
I will follow you through danger,
through famine, and I will love you
I sleep soundly in the lion's den,
dreaming of you
We will begin our own tribe,
and we will walk our own ways
I will dance with you, and you with me
I will belong to you, and you to me
Your smile makes my heart sing
I will follow you to the Promised Land
