We used to sleep over,
Share our hurts, and drink tea
While solving brain teasers.
We used to hug.
We used to make memories.
We used to laugh.
I thought it was my
best friend. Its hair,
matted curls of toxic snakes.
Its arms snapped
Off. Replaced with
deadly sharp spears.
I watched its eyes
melt from its very
sockets. A hollow soul.
Its face cracked and fell to
the floor. I crushed
the shattered pieces. My revenge.
This monster was my best friend.
