In The Rain
Author:
Lord Thyrowing PM
I wrote this as a sort of pep-talk to myself when I was depressed after a really crappy day at school. I think everybody needs one of these, really.

"In The Rain"

Slow the rain down to a crawl
So you stay dry when you fall
But when real life calls
You're well far short of feeling fine
So you cry and start wasting time and

The days slip past by your face
Shadows of their former pace
Some black lattice lace
Over your failed courtship rites
No light will fall on them tonight

This game you play
You'll never win
But you can't give up, and you can't give in, gotta
Barrel down
Keep on strong
Don't give up, and don't give in
Victory's in one small little swing

Practice buying roses now
Take some time to stop and smell
For I've learned one thing well
Love and death are facts of life
And through strife all we need's a knife and

Cut the chain right off the door
The last thing you need's another war
Let someone else explore
All the gifts you have to give
To live a life well worth the risk

This game you play
You'll never win
But you can't give up, and you can't give in, gotta
Barrel down
Keep on strong
Don't give up, and don't give in
Victory's in one small little swing

If you let yourself
Fall down
There just might be hope
On the ground

Get back up
Dust it off
A reminder of what you haven't lost

Speed the rain up to a pour
So you're drenched standing at the door
But when real life roars
You are well ahead of time
A rhyme for turning on the dime

This game you play
You'll never win
But you can't give up, and you can't give in, gotta
Barrel down
Keep on strong
Don't give up, and don't give in
Victory's in one small little swing
