I Will Know Him – My True Love

In this day,

like all the others,

I searched the world

for my true love.

When I find him,

I will know -

his traits are known.

Only his identity,

is still to me a mystery.

He must be tall,

like the trees

in the forest of old.

He must be patient,

teaching softly,

learning in return.

He must be smart,

having knowledge

of the world that he can show.

He must be cunning,

like a snake -

oh so cunning - it makes me shake,

but not so cunning

he is deceitful.

Not so cunning

he is untrue.

These traits belong

to my true love

and so I search,

though I don't find,

my love, my truth, my mastermind.
