Childhood Wonders

Soft, cool

Slipping through my fingers

Smooth, jello-like

Sliding over skin

Set free within my palms

Dancing through the air

As I open my hand

Letting it be released

Chills of pleasure

Rolling down my spine

Desire

For this gift

But, alas, it breaks

The bliss of that moment

Leaving longing like a child's

To play with the plastic lima beans
