The next two weeks Jackson set out to make sure his Mel returned to him.

the feeling that he had in his heart gave him the needed encouragement.

he was in love with the Mel who used to laugh at all his stupid jokes, cry when he'd made a mistake, and sit with him when he just needed a friend.

This was what he needed to do for her, yet he needed it for himself too.

It took only the moments to get to his car after he had visited Mel two weeks before, that compelled him to rebuild the cottage she had took so hard to get.

The only thing he had to start from where the pictures she had left at his place the week before the fire, showing the completed monument for her family in her room.

sitting down upon his bed Jackson looked over the things Mel had created.

There was the Stuffed bear with a picture of her sister on his face, a huge family portrait done professionally the week before the fire that took Mel's families life.

As if he felt himself go into the picture, Jackson watched the happy family laughing giggling as they assembled into the right order.

There came a giggle from a younger version of Mel, when she was caught by her father, making bunny ears to him.

The scene faded as Jackson's mind clouded with his own childhood, there had been no giggles, or hugs of love.

His childhood mirrored thousands of others, that lived in one place where there was no love ever expressed.

The Lucky Kid Orphanage, where every kids dream came true.

His dream of a family burned with his first step into the cold interior of the orphanage.

Tears built up around his eyes, wiping them Jackson wished Mel was here to hear him out, but she wasn't.

Stuffing the memory back into the place it had come from, Jackson concentrated on Mel's future, and his.

The next day Jackson drove to the place where Mel's cottage used to stand, shuffling through the remains he figured he'd find something of value to Mel.

That's when he found a box.

Setting it aside he continued to look for anything else.

He then found china that hadn't been burned and a big black box.

He remembered Mel mentioning that she kept her most special memories in a place where no fire can harm them.

At first Jackson had laugh at her but now he was grateful he'd not talked her out of getting it the year before.

Continuing he found bits and pieces of what looked like Mel's living room furniture.

With his experience as a firefighter, Jackson began to study what could have caused the fire.

Going into what was left of Mel's kitchen nothing looked like it could start it.

Getting to the garage he found a metal blackened gasoline tank, empty by looked like it had exploded.

Surprise reeled in that Mel would have one of these ancient things.

Then it hit him, this wasn't hers this was what had caused it.

looking at the blackened handles, the figure prints would be hard to find.

Calling his investigator friend, he told him what he found.

His friend told him he'd be out with his crew by the hour.

Satisfied Jackson went back to the black box.

The door looked pounded in, like it was closed in a hurry.

Jackson tried to pry the door open but then decided again it.

Putting it into the backside of his pickup truck, he went back to collecting anything worth keeping,

when his friends showed up and did there thing on the can, Jackson's conclusion proved right.

The tank had started the fire; also there where a couple of finger prints on the handle.

But it would take a couple weeks to figure out which was the criminal's finger print.

Satisfied so far he had them look to see if they can find anything on the handle of the black box.

okay you know what you've got to do.
