I couldn't believe it. The dragon...I was excited at first. But now...that...that thing...it's creating a mess! Finding out you're destined to be a rider of a dragon would make anyone happy...but now...not me...I can't get through to it! I mean, nobody said it would be easy...but nobody mentioned it being this hard, either.

I was not looking forward to feeding it again. Right now, I don't know what its name is yet, so all I can call it is "it". I knew it was a female, but it was a habit to call it "it". If it reveals its name...I might think twice. Might. I have to feed right now, otherwise it will go to the nearest ranch and eat cattle. And they would know it was my dragon, because there were no other dragons in a hundred mile radius.

I got into the barn where the dragon was. It was a beautiful creature, with shining black scales and wings that were about the length of fifteen feet. It was about fifteen feet long as well, and it looked skinny enough to sneak through trees without being seen. When I entered, it's violet eyes were on me in an instant. Although I would never admit it, it was a very beautiful creature, no matter how messy it was.

I sighed, then tossed it to large pieces of meat. I would not know which animal meat came from, but I guessed it came from cattle, sheep, or pig. I could care less, really, but i needed something to distract me while I was forced to stay and watch it eat.

I blinked in surprise as the creature started biting little by little, tearing the meat from the bone carefully, and making sure it went in its mouth. It looked at me before looking continuing to carefully tear the meat.

I was still blinking in surprise while it ate, and it felt like my jaw dropped all the way to the floor. It was eating neatly. It was still eating the meat carefully, but quickened a little.

When it was finished, it slowly crawled over to me, and it felt like her violet eyes were staring right through me. I saw it's black slits turn into black circles. It may be a young female dragon, and that was very clear with her figure, but her eyes looked very ancient...like scrolls and ancient text were waiting to be read.

Violet.

I blinked at the voice that just said "violet". Then I heard it again, much clearer than before. Violet.

The first time the voice said "violet", it sounded as though it were shy, and scared, also confused. The second time, it sounded independent and strong, like it was invincible. I looked at it.

Her, I corrected myself.

"Nice to meet you, Violet." I said with a warm smile as I placed my hand on her head. Violet purred with happiness.
