A free verse poem I wrote for school in seventh grade. Don't let that turn you off, though, because I have a knack for writing free verse, according a few people. Just read. You know you want to.

A/N: Yeah, I wrote this poem for school a couple years ago. It may be a little boring, but please read!
On this night
The stars and the moon
Are glistening in the skies
Giving light to the almost bare countryside
The silver sod turning to slush
On the ground so soft but wet
And every twig and blade of grass
Every house's roof
All the branches of trees and bushes
Are covered with melting snow
That has frosted the earth
Like a wedding cake
And each house
There is a fire seen through the windows
From a candle or the fireplace
Winter has gone
But summer is yet to come
With rain spring will take over
The remaining snow
Though the lakes are still frozen
And the air still feels wintry
