My mum or mum's whatever you want to say, are the most treasured people in my life. Before you ask no they are not lesbian they are two best friends and they're not actually my biological mother's. They came to my orphanage when I was 3 and chose to adopt me because I was a quiet girl and looked like them but when you look at us like a family now, we look nothing alike. We have sometimes been even mistaken for sisters but not often.

My family has a lot of money due to my mothers parents and their own jobs but they choose to save it and we live in a small house in a quiet suburb. Although because of my "rich kid" situation, I live walking distance form my school and there's a major bus route with a stop outside of our house so you could say I have complete freedom. Their name's are Rachel and Macey and mine is Emma. They have been friends since year 7 but I didn't know this before the assignment I was given. What I also learnt was that they did have a break in their friendship because different things pushed them apart.

My first day at school was as scary as everyone's is. The senior boys wink at you and say hello but you just smile and walk away with your bag on your back with your books in your arms to your locker. Then you meet the senior girls who purposely knock your books out of your hands or shove you into your locker because its fun? Who knows, because we all face it and just brush it off. Then comes the geeky guys trying to get a date with you but they are just disgusting and then the nerdy girls who day-dream about the guys and all the athletes and singers and it's just gross. Nobody really knew about my mum's so nobody really asked. It took a week for me to find friends and to get my first assignment. It was a decent assignment but I didn't know it would change my life.

Growing up, Rachel and Macey had told me that I was Rachel's child and that my father had abandoned her and as a best friend Macey had come and helped to raise me. Macey had no family as she was an only child like me and her parent's had died when she was 20. Rachel's mum was still around after her father dying just before they adopted me. On my 13th birthday I was informed that I had been adopted and not actually Rachel's child and it was both their idea to adopt a child.

"We never wanted to go through the heart-break again, that we experienced in Karmal. We decided to make up a random story and adopt a child. We wanted someone who was young so that they couldn't remember a lot of their childhood." I didn't run to my room or yell at them, I ran and hugged them and we all started to cry because we realised it really didn't matter.

As an assignment for my English class, we were to get a recalling of our parent's best memory at high school. Ironically, my parent's had sent me to the same place they went to, Karmal High. I have a few close friends there and well, as everyone does lots of other friends that I switch between depending on what class I have.

My best friend is Delilia and yea it looks like its spelt weird but isn't every one's name? I met Delilia in year 7 Science when we were lab partners for a basic practical on the first day back at school. Really how do they expect us to know what to do on the first day of high school? Well that's what she said to me anyways. We got talking and eventually it was like we'd known each other forever. What was even cooler is she lived down the street from me and we could walk to school and home from school. Anyways, back to this assignment.

I gave the sheet to Rachel and asked her to be y assignment and she said that she'd give me a reply in a week and boy, did she give me a reply. It was 1 and a half pages of a lovey dovey, tragic ending story as she put it but when I read it, I understood why her eyes we're so red when she gave it to me. Here it is so that you can see what I handed in to my teacher and why he made me read it out to the entire class it was really good and touching.
