The skies are gray, my heart is heavy,
And yet the birdsong still is merry.
As I watch, the birds fly high.
They are free, now you are too,
And yet still we grieve for you.
You brought us joy and you brought us laughter,
Every day forever after.
You were always ready with a story.
But now you're gone, and the world feels empty.
But as I sit and watch the birds,
I think of you, for you loved them too.
The birds fly free across the sky.
They are free, and now so are you.
