The Ballad of the Lonely Chicken

The sun burns down on my feathers.
The wind whispers to me.
It's the voices of those I left.
They tell me I'm not free.

My love for him was all in vain,
so scorned I walk away
from the small world I've always known.
But I will be okay.

I walk alone upon this road
with my head held quite high.
You have lost me forever now;
it's the end, so good-bye.

This time I'll make it on my own.
I need no help from you.
Forevermore myself, alone.
To my heart, I'll be true.
