So I think
What if the night was blown away like
Dead leaves in the breath
Of a sunny day and
What if streetlights weren't yellow eyes
Cold guardians of darkness
Or intruding spies or
What if I was waiting for more
Than a passing car
That won't take me far or
What if I don't get in when the door opens
What if I don't say one hundred
And I run away? Maybe
I'll find a place under the snow
Tonight, the wind will wonder
Where I've gone
But the stars will know
Where I am.
