A/N Hello! This is fairly new to me as I'm used to drawing my own fiction and not writing it, so I hope this pleases :) Please read and review, and I welcome criticism as long as it's constructive so don't just tell me it sucks. Anyway, please enjoy :)

This is a game. A game of treachery; of lies and deceit. So imagine if you will a card game with all the main players sat round a table. The players are silent, the air is tense. There is the old pirate captain and his disgraced first mate, the two who started the whole treacherous game with their greed and lies. The pirate captain is cunning and sly, he gives a knowing secretive smile. His first mate, a disgraced naval lieutenant, is fuelled so much by his own greed and ambitions that he focuses on nothing but getting what he wants. And he will do anything to achieve his means. There are the pirate captain's children, his eldest girl child the stubborn and fiery pirate captain and her younger sister whose innocence is perhaps her fault, his adopted son who was intended to be the father's successor, but gave it up for his sister. It is said that the gods visit the sins of the father upon the children. It is most appropriate here. Then there is the navy captain, brother to the pirate captain, who in his own way aided the old captain with beginning the game, and the navy captain certainly kept the game going with his sheer determination to bring the disgraced first mate to justice; to make him pay for his sins. Of course there are those sat round the table that are innocent but got caught up in the game by the actions of the main players. Finally, let us not forget perhaps the most important player in the game; without whom the game could not have continued with such intensity. A young pirate with his heart in the right place but perhaps not his head. The Joker of the game, the Joker of this story.
