Rei finally snapped out of his daze and sat up covering his mouth. His eyes looked hurt, disgusted, and confused all at the same time.
Ken stood up and started to leave the room but Rei threw a cushion at him, "So that's it? You're just going to kiss someone and walk away?
Ken looks down at Rei, "There's nothing other than one thing I would say but you don't want to hear it…"
Rei stands up, "I don't get you at all! You have a daughter for crying out loud! Didn't you love your Fiancée?"
A door slides open and both of them turn to see Kotone rubbing her eyes, "Papa?"
Ken walks over to the three year old girl and kneels down in front of her, "
Did we wake you up Kotone, I'm sorry. Come on, let's go back to bed."
Having been ignored once again Rei yells some more, "You bastard, at least explain it to me!" The young man runs out of the apartment and down the stairs into the rain.
Ken stands where he was in silence for a moment before taking his daughter back to bed.
Rei ran and ran for a long time under the rain until he stopped in the middle of a brick wall. He sat down, facing away from the wall and brought his legs up to his face to hide his tears. He could hear the splashing of footsteps and the faint whispers of people as they walked by but he didn't care.
After thirty minutes of the same footsteps and whispers a set of steps stood out from the others. Most footsteps went around him but these seemed to come straight toward him. But he figured they would just pass by and ignored them.
The splashes got closer and louder until they stopped right in front of him. Rei wasn't going to look up until he noticed that it had stopped raining. But he still heard the rain so he looked up to find Ken in front of him holding the umbrella over his head.
"I knew you'd be here," Ken said. When Rei didn't reply Ken grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet.
This made Rei react, he slapped Ken's hand away and jumped out of the safety of the umbrella, "Don't touch me you bastard!"
"Rei," Ken started.
"No, I don't want to hear it! Just get out of my face!"
"Rei just listen to me!" Ken grabbed Rei's hand and pinned it on the wall behind him.
"Why the hell should I? You didn't want to tell me back at the-," Before Rei could finish Ken moved forward, silencing him with a kiss.
"Come on, there's something I want to show you." The old man loosens his grip on Rei's wrist and takes his hand gently and starts to lead him somewhere. Rei said nothing as they walked.
