Ch. 1 - Gabby (Aphrodite)
I woke up, feeling very afraid to go to school. It was my 16th birthday, the day I've been dreading for years. I slowly sat up, watching the sunlight slant in through my bedroom window, sending strips of light on my floor.
"Gabby!" My mom called as the smell of bacon and eggs reached my nostrils. I looked around my room that hasn't changed over the last couple of years. My walls were still hot pink, with only the doors white. My carpet was shaggy pink and on my nightstand was my pink i-pod and my pink phone decorated with Hello Kitty stickers.
I walked over to my closet and put on dark wash skinny jeans, a pink sweater, and knee-high brown boots. Then I ran my brush through my hair and swept it up into a bun. I sprayed on some honey almond perfume and put on mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss. Then I walked into them bathroom and brushed my teeth. After that was done, I walked into the living room. On the far side was a green loveseat; closer to me was a green couch with food on the table beside it. I gulped it down, then grabbed my binder and purse and headed for the bus stop.
In another direction Triston, my closest friend, was walking towards me.
"Happy Birthday, Gabby!" He broke into a wide grin and from behind his back he brought out a huge, pink birthday bag. I groaned and covered my face. Triston grabbed my hands and gently pulled them away from my face.
"No, this is good, I promise." He sweared and handed me the bag. I eyed him suspiciously and pulled the first item out. It was a big, soft teddy bear and I smiled and hugged it tight.
"Aww." I cooed and gave him a hug.
He smiled and said, "Wait, there's more." I broke away from him and pulled a jewelry box out of the bag. I opened it and gasped. It was a beautiful silver locket, the outside laid with diamonds.
"Oh, it's beautiful." I breathed. Triston gently took the box from me and brought it out, the diamonds sparkling in the rising sun. He turned me around, then put his arms around my neck and then he clasped the chain. I smiled and watched as the bus pulled to a stop in front of us. I started to walk towards it but Triston grabbed my wrist and when I turned to face him, he kissed me. I snatched my wrist from his grasp, then angrily grabbed my things and stomped onto the bus.
