I walked into the large room where we held pack meetings. I saw all of the pack and scanned over the crowd until I found my mother. She saw me and smiled and I gave her a nod before looking up at my dad. He wrapped his arms around my mom kissing her on the cheek making her blush I smiled to myself seeing the affect my dad had on her. I scanned the crowd again seeing Carter with his mate Angel he stood behind her while she spoke to another pack member. I sighed and took my seat on the stage next to the Beta. He looked at me and nodded then turned his attention back to the crowd. After a few minutes past, Landon came into the room with Elizabeth and everyone immediately went quiet. The Beta and I stood up and watched as they took the stage. When they were in front of the podium, we sat down and Elizabeth cleared her throat.
"Today I am stepping down from my position as Luna," she started and there were a few murmurs in the crowd, "Landon my son, your Alpha has finally found his mate."
The crowd cheered and I scanned their faces some looked happy and others looked confused. They were probably trying to figure out who his mate was. When the cheering died down Elizabeth spoke again.
"I would like to say it has been an honor being your Luna, and I am grateful to all of you who have lifted me up after I lost my mate and two pups. I will now serve as an overseer for the pack and I hope you all will accept your new Luna. I thank you and love you all….oh yes Amber there is a fresh batch of cookies in the kitchen."
Everyone laughed and applauded as Elizabeth took her seat on the other side of the Beta. Landon stood up and walked over to the podium and the room fell silent again.
"Hello everyone, I would like to present my mate and your new Luna," Landon said then looked over to me, "Rose can you come join me please," he smiled as I stood up and walked over to him. He took my hand in his and squeezed it before he continued, "I present to you Rosa Knight Luna of the Raven pack."
After he spoke those words there were some cheers, a few a gasps, and many death glares. I gulped feeling the tension rising in the room. I took a step forward until I was right in front of the mike. I actually didn't know what to say but I felt the urge to say something.
"Fellow pack members I hope you all will accept me as your new Luna. I will strive to do more than my best for this pack and I hope you will see and appreciate my efforts."
I stepped back and looked at Landon who gave me a grin then kissed me softly on the cheek. I blushed then looked out at the crowd hoping no one saw his public display of affection. But of course Carter saw it and gave me a smirk which made me blush harder. There was a growl from Landon and he stepped forward and spoke into the mike.
"What do you mean you won't accept her as your Luna?" he yelled and looked at the small group of people who were in the center of the room with shock expressions on their faces. I had to admit I didn't hear them and my hearing is exceptional.
"We're sorry Alpha but some of us do not…favor Rosa," a man said and I noticed he was the same man who humiliated me at the second pack house.
"Has Rosa done anything to make her unfavorable?" he asked angrily.
"Yes," a female voice said.
"Amerada what has Rosa done to make you dislike her?" he asked glaring at her.
"She was born black and she thinks that she is better than everyone," she replied nonchalantly as if it was obvious.
"Can you please stop playing the race card it's getting old," I said looking at Amerada's shocked expression.
"I have to agree it only seems that you are the only one that has a problem with Rosa's skin color," Landon said crossing his arms.
"But…I…we…ugh!" she stammered throwing up her arms in the air then stomping out of the room.
"Now for the second part for what she said," I started mentally preparing myself for an insult or other forms of a reaction, "I do think that I am better than some of you just in certain things. I am not ashamed to say that I am better than most of you in fighting and that I am smart. But I didn't reach my level of expertise in a day. It took me years of learning and training to be where I am now and I know some of you might hold that against me. I just have to say this, I don't care what some of you think of me the only opinions I really care about is the ones from my mate, family and those who truly like me. But I will be civil to those who hate me and treat them with respect, I'm actually not a bad person and I hope in time you all will see that."
The room was silent letting the words that I just spoke sink in. I looked at my parents and they gave me a warm smile. I looked over to Carter and he gave me a thumbs' up. I wish that Michael or Lucas was here because they would probably make me laugh by doing something stupid by now.
"Those who cannot accept their new Luna at the moment can either leave or stay until they accept her," Landon said.
"Those who are leaving we can transfer you to another pack so you won't have to become a rogue," I said and Landon looked at me but I stared at the crowd. The small group of people started to leave and I wanted to cry because I knew it was my fault for them leaving. I didn't shed any tears though I had to be strong for the rest of the pack that accepted me. "Very good then you all are dismissed."
Landon nodded his head confirming their dismissal and everyone slowly started to exit the room. I looked at Landon staring into his blue eyes feeling like I was staring into an ocean.
"You handled that well," he said taking my hand again and lightly placing a kiss on it.
"Thank you Alpha," I said and he glared at me. "What? Did I say something wrong?"
"You really should think of a new nickname for me," he replied leading me off the podium.
"Aww but I like calling you Alpha," I said pouting.
He chuckled then said, "I know you do Rose but why don't you leave that nickname for something else."
"Hmm," I thought about it for a minute. "Alright, I'll think of another nickname."
"Thanks," he said as happiness radiated off him in waves.
"You're very welcome…Lanny," I said with a smirk.
"Nooo," he said shaking his head.
"Aww come on it's better than Alpha!"
"No it isn't," he said in a serious tone.
"But Lanny!" I cried and he ran from me covering his ears making me laugh.
A few months later Landon and I mated and I was now caring our pups. Even Liam asked to be turned and now Landon and I were bonded with him since we both gave our blood during his transformation. Now he is a part of our pack and is the sub-beta. Landon and I still go to school since I wanted a degree and Landon needed his high school diploma. Everything with the pack was going smoothly and those who left the pack transferred to our neighboring pack. One day Emma came into our dorm and told me that she needed to talk to me about something important. I immediately stopped what I was doing and looked at her.
"What is it?" I asked sitting down on my bed, which was across from hers.
"It's about my pack," she said quietly.
"What about them? Are they in danger?" I asked.
"No," she shook her head.
"Then what happened?" I asked again.
"We had a pack meeting last night and our Alpha told us that your pack was planning to attack us," she replied looking me in the eyes.
"Who told him that?" I asked angrily.
"A witch named Amora," she replied.
"Amora like the diamonds," I said softly reaching up to feel my diamond studs from Landon.
"Yes," she said sadly.
"Well can you tell your Alpha that we do not plan on attacking your pack," I said.
"I have already told him but he wouldn't listen since the witch claimed that she saw it in the future," she replied.
"She must be stating a false hood," I stated getting up from my chair and walking over to my closet.
"What are you doing?" she asked standing up.
"I'm going over there and telling him that this is just a big mistake," I replied putting on my shoes.
"But-"
"No buts you will take me to your Alpha," I said sternly.
She sighed giving up and grabbed her car keys. I followed her out the door making sure that I locked the door. We headed to the parking lot and I felt like I was missing something but I couldn't put my finger on it. I shrugged and got in the car once we reached it. The drive over was silent and I was deep in thought trying to forestall this situation. When we finally reached the pack house, I hopped out of the car and swiftly marched to the door. Before I even knocked, the door flew open and there stood a very angry Alpha.
"What are you doing here?" he asked through gritted teeth.
"I came to make things right," I said calmly the last thing I wanted to do is get upset it was not good for the baby.
"Fine," he growled then walked away. I knew the only reason why he didn't put up an argument was because I was pregnant and because he doesn't usually get mad at me. When he does get mad, it isn't for too long and he loves my companionship. I walked into the house following his scent until it leads me to a large room where the pack members were seated. I stop when I smell an unfamiliar scent and turn my head to see who it was. There was a woman who looked about thirty with fiery red hair and green eyes she turned to look at me and gave me an evil smirk. I quickly turned my attention back to the Alpha as he stood in front of the podium.
"As you all know we have received information from a reliable resource about the Raven pack wanting to attack us. The Luna from the Raven pack who is also our ally has come to speak to us today," he said turning to me. "Rosa you may speak now."
"Thank you Alpha," I said walking over to the podium.
"Please call me Henry," he said and I nodded.
"Hello everyone," I paused as a few members said a greeting back, "As Henry said earlier there was some information about my pack attacking yours. I have come to tell you that this in fact is not true. My mate and I would never think of harming any of you."
"Then how come I've heard rumors spreading that your mate was upset with one of my members because of something they said that wasn't even pertaining to him," Henry questioned.
"I do not know what you are talking about," I answered.
"Then you need to talk to your mate, he is not telling you everything," he said.
"My mate tells me everything," I argued and he raised an eyebrow.
"Are you really sure about that," he said crossing his arms against his chest, "for what I know you don't live on the territory and even if you did you still wouldn't know what was going on most of the day since you're in school."
"And so your point is?" I asked getting irritated.
"Don't get flip with me," he said in a caveat tone.
"I am not getting flip I just don't understand your point!" I yelled and he snapped.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me!" he yelled back.
"I will—" I started before I was interrupted by Emma.
"What she means to say is that she will calm down because she doesn't want to be stressed because of the baby," she said while giving me a you-owe-me-big-time look.
"Yes," I said then cleared my throat looking back at Henry. "That is what I meant to say."
"I'm sorry Rosa I shouldn't have yelled back," he said.
"No it's my fault for losing my temper," I said.
"Back to the situation," the woman with the red hair said. I assumed that she was the reliable source meaning that she was the witch.
"You must be the witch that told my friend here that our pack is going to attack," I stated.
"Bravo you figured it out in what two minutes," she said sarcastically and I glared at her.
"I'll ignore your sarcastic comment," I said then continued. "How can you see into the future?"
"I have a crystal ball," she said dryly.
"Stop messing around," I snapped and she looked at me with a smug expression.
"Did I get the big bad wolf angry?" she asked.
"Yes, now tell me your methods on how you see the future," I said glaring at her.
"I will do no such thing," she said seriously.
"And why not?" I asked.
"Because it's a free country and I don't have to show you my method's unless I want to," she replied.
"Henry have you seen her methods?" I asked looking over at Henry and he shook his head no. "Then why would you believe her?"
"Because…" he trailed off.
"Because?" I asked.
"She's my mate," he said and I gasped. Henry finally found his mate I felt happiness for him but anger towards her for manipulating him into believing that our pack would attack them.
"Oh Henry I am so happy for you," I said giving him a smile in which he returned. "But I really think she's manipulating you."
The smile turned into a scowl before it went straight to anger. Crap, I thought to myself why did I have to say my thoughts aloud.
"She is not manipulating me!" he shouted and I shook my head disagreeing with him. "Get out! If you can't accept the truth that my mate has told you then leave."
"Fine, I think she is manipulating you but you're just too blind to see it," I said then walked off the platform. Henry frowns thinking about something then sighed.
"Rosa if this ends in a war I will not harm you or your parents since I owe you my life," he said.
"I know," I said simply turning to walk away.
"If this ends in a war I will not fight against the werewolves because I believe that what Rosa said is true," Emma said standing behind me.
"If that is what you want to do then by all means do so," Henry said. "Is there anyone else that wants to join Emma?"
Emma's mate Alistair stood up and spoke, "I will join her."
Henry nodded his approval and scanned the area for any others who might follow Emma's example. When no one else rose, I left without another word. If a war is what the hunters, want then a war is what they will get.
A month past, after that meeting, Landon, and I have been training the pack just in case a war breaks out. I was three months pregnant and boy was it showing. I felt like I was carrying a whole watermelon in my stomach and my stretch marks had stretch marks. I couldn't believe I was carrying triplets and I felt like it had to be karma biting me back in the stomach for killing triplets. I sighed as I lay down in Landon's bed trying to relax my aching feet. I was cooking most of the morning since I was hungry but like always ended up making breakfast for the whole pack and not eating any of the food I cooked. Landon commanded me to go upstairs and rest my swollen feet while he made me a plate for breakfast. Looking at the clock it was almost time for him to be heading to school since they were having a fundraising event today and he said he would show up for a couple of hours.
He came in the room with a tray in his hand and I immediately smelled the heavenly scent of bacon. My mouth started to water as he placed the tray in front of me and I grabbed a piece of bacon stuffing it in my mouth. I savored its taste before picking up another strip.
"Good?" he asked with a playful grin on his lips.
"Oh God yes," I moaned. Then quickly realized how sexual that sounded. He must have realized it to because his grin turned into a smirk.
"I'll get you back for that later," he said kissing my forehead.
"I know you will," I said with a chuckle. I watched as he left the room and I continued to finish my food once I was done I turned on the TV when Amber came into the room.
"Hello Rosa," she said climbing into bed next to me.
"Hello Amber," I said as she placed her hand on my watermelon belly. Amber and I grew closer during my pregnancy so close that I almost considered her my daughter but I chose to stick with younger sister instead.
"How are the babies?" she asked rubbing my tummy.
"Good," I replied smiling.
"That's great," she yawned.
"Are you tired?" I asked and she nodded. "Why?"
"I kept having nightmares," she replied.
"About?"
"Being taken away from my home," she replied sadly and I wrapped my arms around her.
"No one will take you away," I said reassuringly.
"Promise," she asked looking up at me.
"I promise," I said and she smiled. "If you want we can take a nap together."
"Really?" she asked her eyes lighting up.
"Sure," I said with a grin and she slid from my grasp.
"I'll be right back," she said leaving the room. I waited for her to return and she did with a teddy bear that Malcolm gave her.
"Are you ready for your nap now?" I asked and she nodded climbing into bed. I tucked her in and as soon as her head hit Landon's pillow she was out like a light. I yawned then turned off the TV resting my head on my pillow before slowly closing my eyes and falling into a deep sleep.
When I woke up from my nap, I looked around to see that Amber was gone but her teddy bear was still here. Immediately I started to panic and I got out of bed sniffing for Amber's scent. It leads me to the window I looked around the forest and saw nothing but trees.
"Has anyone seen Amber?" I asked through the mind link. Everyone response was a no and I knew what happened. Amber was kidnapped and it was my entire fault I didn't protect her like I promised I let someone take her away. "I need all of my trackers here now!"
I waited a few minutes when I saw all ten of my personally trained trackers standing before me.
"I need you to track Amber's scent I believe she was kidnapped while we were sleeping," I stated and they all growled. "While you track them I will make sure I inform Landon of the situation as soon as you know where she is tell Landon and then me so I can tell her parents."
After I was finished, giving out orders, I dismissed them and they expedited out. I took out my phone and called Landon he didn't answer so I left him a message explaining the whole situation then sent it as urgent. I prayed to the Moon Goddess that Amber will be safe and that they will find her soon.
It has been a week since we last saw Amber. She was on the hunters' territory and one of my trackers was almost killed while tracking her. Now Landon was bringing the fight to the hunters and he was taking most of his warriors into battle with him. I wanted to go but of course, I lost that argument. I haven't been on the battlefield in a while so hearing about this war between my two alliances take place had my skin crawling with excitement. I talked to Liam about the battle and he seemed ready to fight so was his brother they've been training extra hard this week for this battle. When it was time for everyone to leave we said our goodbyes and the men headed out all except Landon.
"You need to go," I said.
"I know but I couldn't leave without telling you goodbye," he countered.
"Okay go ahead and say goodbye," I said and Landon smiled.
He crouched down in front of my belly and rubbed it soothingly. "Goodbye my three little pups make sure you protect mommy and don't give her a hard time. I love you all."
He kissed my belly three times making sure to give each one of them a kiss before standing up and wrapping me into his arms. He breathed in my scent and tenderly kissed his mark on neck. I smiled feeling the sparks running through my body and I looked up into his blue eyes. They were crystal clear and he grinned.
"Make sure you take good care of yourself while I'm gone and I will bring Amber back. I love you Rose," he said then kissed me softly on the lips.
"I love you to Lanny," I said with a grin and he rolled his eyes. I walked him out of the house and onto the changing deck where he stripped down to his boxers. "Goodbye."
"Goodbye my Love," he said then shifted into his black wolf then darted off into the trees.
A few hours later everything was quiet and I stood by my window and watched the wind rustling the tree branches. It felt like a storm was coming but I wasn't sure when exactly but I knew for sure that one was coming. I sat down on the bed and flicked on the TV hoping that it would distract me. A few hours of watching the tube and I turned it off before I heard a few howls, I knew what those howls meant it was the signal for the battle starting. I started to pace back in forth through my room and prayed that everyone came out alive.
The first few pains I felt were insidious. But later on the pains started to grow and before I knew it I was crawling out of my room gripping my chest as if I was just stabbed in the chest. When one of the warriors that stayed behind saw me on the floor sweating in pain he rushed to my aid.
"Where does it hear?" he asked.
"My chest," I gasped feeling a new wave of pain hit me.
"We need to call the doctor," he said.
"No," I said, "take me to Landon."
"I can't do that miss," he said sadly.
"This is an order you take me to Landon," I said using my Alpha tone. At first he tried to resist it but then he finally gave him. He scooped me up and lead me to the changing deck then placed me down in a chair. He then stripped until he was in his boxers then shifted and crouched down so I could get on top of his back. I did so and he ran off into the forest. In minutes, he reached the battle and I couldn't help but gasp at all the bodies lying around on the ground. He moved closer to the area where there were a group of wolves huddled in a circle.
"This is as far as I will go," he said crouching behind a tree so the other wolves wouldn't see him.
"Thank you," I said slowly getting off his back.
"You're welcome Luna," he said before leaving.
I walked over to the group of wolves careful that I didn't make any noise to give me away. I stood behind Liam and slowly rubbed his hind leg feeling the sparks. He turned to look at me and before he could say anything, I placed my finger over my mouth to tell him to be silent.
"We'll talk about this later," he said through the mind link and I nodded.
He shifted a little giving me enough room to stand between him and Carter. Carter looked down on me and gave me a wolfy smirk before turning his attention back to the scene in front of us. In front of me were Landon and Henry circling each other severely bruised and bloodied. I immediately thought Danse Macabre the dance of death. Finally, Henry attacked and Landon dodged it by shifting to the side he spun and bit Henry's rib cage ripping off a piece of flesh. The battle went on like that until I saw a certain red head in the shadows. I study her features seeing that she was bruised a little but for the most part, she looked okay. Then I noticed that her eyes were closed and her lips were moving fast and I looked at Henry and saw that he was beginning to transform right in from my eyes.
He grew bigger, he looked stronger, and his blade that he was clenching was now dripping with poison. He drew back the blade and I wanted to stop him but I was too late. He plunged it into my mate's chest and I felt a searing pain spread through my chest I felt like the pain was unbearable and I grabbed onto Liam for support. I looked at Landon's still figure on the floor and rushed over to him cradling his head into my lap. His breathing became ragged and I started to cry I didn't want him to die. I looked over the place where he was stabbed at and saw blood quickly seeping out. Landon shifted back into his human form and I held him gently as he spoke.
"Rose," he whispered.
"Yes, I'm here," I said softly brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"I want you to mate with Liam and raise the children together," he said.
"Okay," I cried.
"Tell them all that I love them and that I will visit them soon when the time comes," he said warily and I nodded.
"I love you Landon," I said wiping away my tears.
"I love you to Rose," he smiled then coughed up blood.
"Landon please don't leave me," I said crying.
"I'm not," he said with a bloody smile.
"Promise?" I asked.
"Pro—" he started to say but was interrupted by a cough. There was blood all over him now, he looked into my eyes full of light and excitement then with his last breath they dulled, and his head rolled into my lap.
"No!" I screamed shaking his still figure. "No Landon you can't be dead!"
I shook his figure willing him to come back to me. Praying that he would be all right then there was a sharp pain in my heart as if I were being stabbed multiple times. I fell to the ground screaming while clenching my chest hoping that the pain will stop. I felt strong arms wrap around me and tingles all over my skin I knew Liam was holding me but it didn't make me feel any better. The Beta and a few other warriors came and took Landon's body away.
"NO!" I screamed fighting against Liam to let me go. "Don't take him away from me."
I started to fight against Liam but he tightened his grip on me making whimper. The pain was unbearable and if it wasn't for Liam and my babies I would have taken the blade that killed Landon and killed myself to. I cried in Liam's arm as he rocked me back and forth gently. It started to rain and soon I couldn't tell the difference between my tears and the tears from the clouds.
"Please don't leave me," I chanted wishing that Landon could hear me.
"I won't leave you Rosa," Liam said softly.
"Please…don't…leave," I whispered before fainting.
So interesting chapter I hope you enjoyed it. The next chapter is the last one!
