O Lord, how often I fall and fail thee.
Again and again, I fall far away
From thee, thy will. I do not obey.
My treachery eats at me. Hear my plea
My God, my Lord, my love, keep me with thee.
To thee there is pain when I disobey
Instruct me that I stay near thee each day.
I desire always to stay by thy knee.
I draw near to thee only by thy grace.
God instruct, discipline me! Lord entice
Me with your forgiveness! Heal me, embrace
Me eternally! Only thee shall suffice.
Thy mercy, grace, forgiveness, blood, thy love
Wash me and keep me near to thee above.
