I was at DC on an overnight school trip last year, and burst into tears at the memorial, though i'm not really sure why. On the bus ride back to the hotel, I wrote this down.

Vietnam Memorial
By Joshua Macintyre
As I walk through the memorial. I feel like crying.
At first, I'm not sure why.
But I can feel the tears coming,
Like watching someone die.
All these people, they are dead,
I never actually met.
But I feel like crying, all the same,
That's just fine, I bet.
I leave a dime to honor them,
I know it is not much.
But I want to leave them something
To honor them as such.
I want to say thanks, I want to leave this
Poem with many a rhyme,
However that's not possible right now
For I am out of time.
