Swords clash and bodies fall,
Soldiers to answer the king's call,
Blood flies, rotten lies,
Warmth behind those frozen eyes.

Men and women alike came ready to die,
Armed to fight because the king had said.
Side to side as the battle drew nigh,
Prepared to make the rivers run red.

One thing that remained to be seen,
Do those who seek fame know no bounds?
Everyone's fate began to convene
As Death continued to make his rounds.

War after war waged until the end came,
Where once was a body now lay piles.
Their beautiful paradise set aflame,
Millions of crypts stretched for miles.

The king sat still upon his throne,
For now he was left all alone,
As no one was left, no one at all,
No one to answer the king's mighty call.
