Chapter 1: Chapter 1

One gloomy foggy day, as a alone figure was gallivanting through the mysterious forest, everything around her was not familiar, with the dark trees that loomed dangerously close to the ground.

The forested seemed to get darker as the thick fog settled closer.

Ending up in this forest was no simple thing to Grace Harrington.

Even after 2 years on her own she could still hear the horrible screams as the leaping fire took her best friends life one night during a lightning storm.

The pain of the night sent her brain back, flashes of what happened slashed across her memory.

Flashback

The wheels of the train squealed around the turn, leaving the two huddling in the corner deafened for a moment.

The younger one of the two shuddered as rolling thunder echoed of the empty carts walls. "I'm scared," Grace whimpered, moving closer to the older boy setting at her right side.

The boy flashed her, a compassionate look, pulling her closer to his side.

"Nonsense, Gracie. I'm here to protect you."

The girl smiles an uneven smile."Close your eyes, we'll be in our safe haven in no time."

Sighing, they both closed their eyes, the future unsure for them both.

As the train carried on, they never could of guessed that, in a blink of a eye their whole lives could change forever.

Flashback End

Hurrying along the well worn path, a howl pierced the air.

Terrified she looked in all directions seeing nothing but horrid black trees.

Running till she could see over the hill side, Grace peered from around a dark tree.

Shocked and alarm, she saw what looked like a cabin, centered at the base off the next hill.

Even through this fog she could clearly see the outline of the two story cabin.

Then out of nowhere a twig snap, and then hushed silence.

It felt like whatever was out there, had to be getting close.

Grace almost fainted, when a wolf howled at the blue moon.

Jumping from Her hiding spot, as the next twig cracked.

This time unmistakably closer, looking between the house and her hiding spot judging which was safer.

She took a leap of faith, not that she believed in that stuff anyway.

God was for old people and for the weak.

"But I'm not weak" she though proudly.

Judging on the distance she took off sprinting, yet it still felt like someone was breathing down her neck.

As she was running, Grace heard heavy footsteps behind pacing to keep up.

A sense of desperation kept her running till her pursuer was breathing heavily.

As she neared the cabin, the footsteps died off.

When she reaches for the door, Grace felt a sickening thud, as she gave way to darkness.

End Of Chapter One.
