Two years later.

On the morning of her birthday, Grace sat up in her bed.

Today she was 18, the official day the orphanage let them go.

2 years before she and buck had escaped from the miserable life they had there.

Only later buck died on the train that was talking them to new freedom.

Tears trickled down her cheeks as she got ready.

Evie and Jack, her foster parents had gone away for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary leaving Grace to look after the farm.

Walking out her door, she noticed a hidden door to the left of the staircase how odd she had never see that before.

Walking slowly towards it, Grace felt like she was stalking something hoping it wouldn't disappear.

Pushing on it she found the door handle, opening it grace found stairs leading to an unknown place up in the attic.

Walking up the creaking stairs, grace coughed from the dust.

Each stair took her closer to something that tugged at her memory, she had a strange feeling she'd been here before.

The last stair was enclosed with another door, tugging on the handle the door squeaked open.

The scene enfolding before her, made her eyes grow large, as she felt herself being tugged to the past; the past she thought she never had.

Grace lay down on the last step;

giggles, laughter, chocolate cookie blurred before her, the whirlwind of her memory showed a little girl, crying, then laughing as a big man pushed her on a swing.

Then she was back in the attic, her mind trying to catch up to her memories.

This place she was in, had meant something to her before, but how, she'd always been in the orphanage.

Getting up slightly dizzy from the emotions, Grace walked into the room at the top of the stairs; in here her heart did a stop.

Like lightening her past resurfaced; grace as a little girl playing dolls in the room, grace as a three year old hiding from her parents.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, as she touched a little bed standing in the corner.

Walking around the room, Grace touched everything to feel the connection with her past.

As she came to a stop in front of a trunk, she sled her hand over the dusty surface, opening it her breath caught in her thought.

Little tiny cloths of all kind lay in heaps, tiny ribbon, hats.

Picking up a little hat, she breathed in the smell, the years of neglect brought out only a musty smell.

Yet grace smelt the faint smell of grass, and lavender, these were her baby clothes, Evie and jack were her parents came to her heart before she heard a commotion out side.

Walking to the attic window, Grace peered out to the back of the farm, everywhere coming out of the forest where black garbed men, on black horses.

Gasping with horror, grace ran and closed both the attic doors praying they'd not take her.

The memory of her past resurfaced all the way when she'd saw those men, like before when she had only been a toddler playing in the grassy meadow.

Heart beating, she heard the men walking around in the down stair.

Her heart skipped a few beats when she heard the stairs going upstairs creek.

Grabbing a sack bag, Grace shoved in a few things she found in the trunk to remind herself of what she had found.

Going to the window she was surprised it opened without a squeak.

With fast movements as she heard the first attic door opened, Grace crawled out the window, hiding to the side as the door opened into the attic.

Her mind kept playing pictures of the past, making Grace's fear of men in black grow.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw a man poke his head out, not moving or breathing she waited till he backed away and closed her entry back into the house.

Grabbing onto the roof above, grace slowly moved watching for any back garbed men, hoping they wouldn't notice her.

The Pain in her chest grew worse when she heard something crash inside, almost crying out she bit her bottom lip, walking a step at a time.

Looking to the direction of town, Grace calculated how long before she would see her foster parents and get away from these men that where looting through their farm.

Deep in thought grace stepped onto a wet mossy spot, as her foot buckled under her, grace silenced a scream till she was rolling down the roof.

Before her life flashed before he eyes, grace caught onto the roof, hands slipping she looked down as a black haired man looked up at her,

his blue eyes getting bigger before her hands slipped and she fell straight into the men she only wanted to get away from.

Darkness engulfed her as she felt a sickening pain crawl through her body.

Opening her eyes, Grace looked towards the house, tears threatening to spill.

Picking up her head, nausea rippled through her before she let out her breakfast to the side of her, that's when she noticed she was hog tied to a tree.

Men in black crawled all over the farm.

They seemed to be looking for something, yet As she watched one greedy man bring out her prized blanket and throw it into the growing pile of things she couldn't help but let out a scream.

The man with the blue eyes she'd fallen on, came over to her and looked her straight into the eyes, she felt like a peace wash over her.

Before he turned, grace felt something hit her in the head then darkness came again.
