Author's Epilogue

I consider the series to be divided up into three sagas, each with their own pair of stories in the same timeline, following where the last ended. Example: Book 2 picks up where 1 ended, 4 where 3 ended, 6 where 5 ended.

So this is the end of the first saga, the introduction, the shortest set. The major plot lines have been established, but there are still a few more characters that we've yet to be introduced to. I'll be taking a (brief) hiatus before posting up the first chapters of Book 3 to work on some other things – ending the hiatus on The Raining King, for one.

I mentioned in my user profile that these stories began as screenplays. This is true, and I've already written the entire thing in that form. But after the sixth script was done, I started to get the feeling that the project was going to wind up as a White Elephant, and that there was absolutely no chance I was ever going to sell a six-film script series without getting laughed out of the room. Something had to change up.

I've got a few dates written down at the end of the script for this segment.

First draft completed July 29, 2007, 11:41 PM.

Second revision completed May 14, 2008, 11:57 PM.

Third revision completed July 26, 2009, 9:42

…I'm mad at myself for waiting this long to get back in the game; stories and ideas are no good when they're cooped up in some deep-buried folder on a computer.

When I came up with the storyline and wrote the screenplays, I wrote them with specific places in mind, basing many of the areas in Fritish segments on existing places around my home state of Maryland, to ease filming in case I'd ever take the project on myself. Aubna's house and garden, the island, the rivers and bridges, the railroad, the forests, the quarry, both of the dams – all of these places actually exist. If you're familiar with the area, you may be able guess some of them.

Enough blabbering on. The second saga is my favorite, and I can't wait to start work on it again!
