When she walked by the window, it was like thunder.
It was like a great rumbling inside of me
and I was sure everyone around me could hear it.
I couldn't hear,
couldn't see,
couldn't think
of anything else.
A pang of jealousy shot through me as
I watched as her face flushed from the cold,
and I watched the wind run its icy fingers through her hair.
And I wished I had the same privilege.
