A flame from a candle
With its incandescent glow
Shimmering in fear
From the atmospheric chaos below.
The flame stands tall,
on a pillar of wax,
flame representing future,
wax representing past,
As the wax melts away,
the flame begins to wane,
the curious observer deducing,
that nothing stays the same,
With all the wax melted,
and the austere flame gone,
the great light that has preceded,
has well and truly been reduced to none,
For the great mysterious darkness,
has engulfed its fiery foe,
leaving many lives in darkness,
embracing a dark, unknown change below.
