Brave Jester

She doesn't know how much she means to me.
I see her hurt in ev'ry kind of light.
I just sit here, unseen, dejectedly,
There's little I can do to make it right.
Especially when I'm so far away,
And all we have are computers and phones.
Name any act of love I could display,
I'd perform for the kings upon their thrones.
They'd laugh and say "he's just a jester boy!"
"What could he possibly know of such love?"
And as they laughed, their wine they would enjoy,
I conjured up an invisible glove.
With which to challenge them to duel or die,
And wait for any of them to reply.
