Once upon a time, Julian met Violet. Violet saved Julian. Julian and Violet fell in love. They got married, had a son and lived Happily Ever After. But no story ever ends at "happily ever after." Julian still needs to be saved from himself. Violet needs to keep her family from falling to ashes. Phoenix just needs both of his parents to be whole again.

"Isn't Phoenix a hippie name?"
Violet pouted, taking the proffered mug from her husband's hand. "The phoenix was a very majestic bird," she replied. "I had a parakeet named Phoenix once."
Julian raised his eyebrows. "You want to name our firstborn after a parakeet?" He would have been offended if the thought wasn't so amusing.
"Of course not. But if it helps, he was my favorite," she offered with a grin.
Julian rolled his eyes. "No."
"But what if when he comes out he just… feels like a Phoenix?" Violet rubbed her convex belly thoughtfully.
"Then he can be a Phoenix. But right now, what do you think about Michael?" He took a seat next to her and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek, his fingers finding hers.
