Holding hands to cross the road
Knew you'd never let me go
Where did the innocent go?
Where did the innocent go?
Scoop me up into your heart
Fall asleep within your arms
Where did the innocent go?
Where did the innocent go?
Another day, another scar
They said I'd never get this far
When every day you've got to fight
To see the stars again tonight
Black and white ain't much to be
Shades of gray are all I see
When even virtues have to bleed
How can I breathe?
Take a breath and step back up
Take the chance you never took
As all the world spins round and round
Somewhere out there, innocence is found
Thunder rumbles in the distance
The dark burns brighter in an instant
Let the rain drip down your arms
And wash away your battle scars
Right and wrong ain't much to be
Nothing's ever as it seems
When everything is ending
How can I believe?
Take a breath and step back up
Take the chance you never took
Life was meant to be insistent
You've just gotta learn to live it
Hold my hand and don't forget
We haven't lost this battle yet
When all the world spins round and round
Somewhere out there, innocence is found
Teardrops stain her dirty hands
'Cause it's all happening again
As with weather and the rain
It's all ending just the same
Light and dark ain't much to be
No one's ever truly free
But as the day comes to an end
I know there's nothing that can't mend
I can't hold on to love and faith
Give me something that won't break
Steadfast and with diligence
You'll forever look on, innocent.
