Just a quick AN. This chapter is a "For Him" part of the series of shorts. Basically this is written for the current love, and not the ex. So "you" in this case is "him." I hope that isn't too confusing, but you're all smart and wonderful so I'm sure you'll do fine. Thanks for reading so far! I hope you're all enjoying them

For Him: Second Chances

I met you twice.

The first time simply facilitated the second time I met you, perpetuating the rest of our relationship.

I thought you were you weird. Well, you were drunk so I guess you wouldn't have been yourself anyway. I tried to impress you and I don't know why. I guess because you were a guy and I was half way through the process of slowly realizing my boyfriend wasn't right for me anymore. The very fact I still had a boyfriend prevented me from pursuing you, and in turn I had to meet you a second time.

You asked me out to drinks and I said yes. We never met up for those drinks.

The second time was a happenstance, according to you anyway. I firmly believe the universe wanted us to be together and we fucked it up the first time. I don't throw away second chances.

I still thought you were weird, and you were less drunk this time so I decided you were just weird but I found it funny. I once again tried to impress you and I knew it was working. This time my boyfriend and I were on the fringes of our relationship, holding on for the sake of holding on, to what I'll never understand. I decided to pursue this time because I thought, why not? What's the harm? Going out with strangers is sexy and exciting and I needed that.

You asked me out to drinks again and I said yes. This time, we met.
