Ruined
A blank slate of sheer grey
The sky was to my heart's dismay
A sullen and broken day
No clouds, no words to say
Silence suffocated the land
Upon which no good tree did stand
No sweet breeze, no fluttering sand
The day was new and yet unplanned
The air was cold but there was no snow
No water touched home, no water did flow
No sound of the frightening crow
No sign, no life, if one must know
Time went flying instead of birds
My sight was tinted and painfully blurred
No prejudice, no arrogance, but words unheard
My vision went faint and everything swirled
Gone was the heavenly paradise on earth
Gone was the golden glimmer of worth
A break in the sky no one can see
Gone was the hope of sweet reality
