When Two Hearts Become One

She's sits frozen in time like a silent statue, alone in the cold while the world whirls past her.

She's left isolated in her own thoughts, which trap her in a haze of screams. I move closer, catching the last glint in her eyes disappear.

I recognize that mask she wears; it's like staring into a jagged mirror of the past.

In it I see the suffocation that the mask brought me along with a feeling of being too far down to stand back up.

I've already been hurt. Why does she need to feel the same? Maybe if I could reach out a hand to her, I could stop her falling again.

And before my mind can echo the thoughts of my heart, I realize that maybe with her our hearts can become one.
