Animals don't have to think about anything. They live in the moment without having to second guess themselves. I wish I could do the same.

Animal Instinct

I wish I was a bird
With the freedom to fly
And sing to my heart's content.
No rules, no restrictions, no restraints.
And, being a bird,
I would possess a certain grace.
I would be worshipped.
Though such reverence is not what
I seek.
I don't care much for Godliness.
All I want is freedom.
Liberty.
A simple life
Without complexity or
Complications.
And someone to love
And be loved by
Above all others.

I don't ask for wealth or fame or recognition.
I never asked for an easy life.
All I ask for is love and freedom.
Is that too much to wish for?
