I came to, in tears,
breaths billowing from me,
greedily gasping more air, only for it to
catch in my throat,
as I hiccupped my grief.
My fingers clutched for my phone,
even as I hazily grasped the fact -
I'd been dreaming.
Still, I punched letters into words with my
thumbs and
begged
for the knowledge that you were okay.
In the dream you slit your wrists.
Bled out.
In reality, she
jumped.
I lost her.
I cannot lose you too.
