In a magical land of Cheermeup, there lived a great king. He had one lovely princess named Yana. She was the only little girl in the kingdom, others were either grown ups or teenagers. . The palace had everything that a young princess might need, except a friend. She played with the horses and talked to the birds.

Yana was a naughty little girl. She played tricks on the guards and maids of the was a big dark forest behind the palace where the magical fairies lived. Yana had always heard about the fairies but had never seen one. She wanted to go see one for herself, but was forbidden from going into the forest alone. No other adults would entertain her request of going to the forest. This made princess Yana very angry. She was very bored and lonely with no one to play with. She felt like she was being left out of the fun and excitement that lay beyond the palace, in the forest.

Yana had never been inside the forest. Her parents had told her to never go there day, when the princess couldn't stand playing all by herself, she decided to walk into the forest all alone. When no guards were looking she jumped over the stream that divided the palace grounds and the forest and set off to explore.

"I know I can do this I am quite grown up now. I am sick of people thinking that I am a baby!" she thought.

She jumped over the little stream flowing as a divide between the forest and the land of Cheermeup. She saw the most amazing sights, the colors on the trees were vibrant and beautiful. She heard melodious chirping of birds that she had never heard before. "Hello? Hello? Anyone there?" she asked hoping to find someone to play with.

She was so thrilled at the idea of being able to see the amazing sights that she felt a tinge of excitement run down her spine. She thought to herself, " I won't go too far; I will turn around and go to back to the palace grounds before it is too dark. Queen Mother won't need to worry about me, I will be back before they notice that I was gone, I will be JUST FINE!"

It didn't take very long for Princess Yana to be lost. The sounds and sights of the forest were so amazing that she didn't realize that she had walked too far and too long. Soon she realized that she was lost and that she did not know her way back to the palace. "Maybe queen mother was right. I shouldn't be here by myself", Yana thought with a little fear building up inside of her, she was afraid and tired. She did not know how to go back home. Just as she was wondering about the way to get out of the forest, something glittering behind the tree caught her eye. She gently moved the bushes to see what that was and to her surprise she found little golden wings and curled into them a little fairy.

It was a fairy with golden wings. Yana was so excited to see the fairy that she forgot that she was lost. She let out a shriek. Startled by her sound the fairy turned around, "Who are you and what are you doing here in Fairyland?" asked the fairy in a very grouchy voice.

Princess Yana was a little afraid to continue the conversation. She was told by her mother enough times to never talk to strangers and never give personal information to anyone. However, after some thought she decided that she would tell the fairy the truth and hoped that she will help her get out of the forest, back to the safety of the palace. Embarrassed about being in Failryland without permission, the princess replied, "Oh! I am princess Yana from the land next to the forest. I came here without telling my parents and I might have come too far, and now I am lost, could you help me find my way back? Please!"

She told the fairy about how she didn't have any friends and that she was very lonely, so she decided to come and explore the fairy looked at Yana carefully, still wearing the frown on her head she said, "I am a princess too, my name is Saachi. This is my forest," said the little fairy.

Princess Yana asked fairy Saachi to help her find her way back to the palace. The frown on the fairy's head started to disappear, she looked at Yana carefully again and then, to Yana's surprise, the fairy leaped and gave Yana a big hug. Yana was taken aback by this reaction. She stood there speechless. The fairy then spoke in a calm and soothing voice, " Hello dear Princess, I am fairy princess Saachi. It is quite a coincidence that I am the only little princess in my kingdom too. I am not allowed out of bounds of the forest either. I was sitting behind the tree very upset about being the only person in the forest with no friend. Will you be my friend?"

Yana nodded with a big smile on her face. She was so happy to have found a friend after a long time of loneliness.

Fairy princess Saachi gave Yana a big hug and asked if they could be friends. Yana was very happy to have a new friend. Yana was feeling a lot better after talking to Saachi. "Saachi, now that we are friends, could you please help me find my way back to the palace?" asked Yana.

Saachi smiled and sprinkled her magic dust and waved her magic wand, immediately the path cleared and lit up with beautiful blue light. Yana looked around, all the lightening bugs had made a lit up path for her to follow all the way home.

Saachi waved her magic wand and the forest lit up. The trees made a path for Yana to go back the girls parted they hugged one another and decided that the next day they would meet at the edge of the stream that divides the forest and the palace grounds.

They also decided that they would each go home and tell their parents about having met a friend.

Yana turned and walked back to the forest with the help of the lightening bugs and Saachi returned to her fairy palace. They couldn't wait to go home and report to their parents.

The girls decided to meet everyday near the stream to play. But before doing that, they would tell their next day they both met up at the stream and both the girls' parents met each other too.

Then after the girls never felt lonely and now together they played pranks on the guards and maids, with help of Saachi's magical powers the mischief was even more fun.

From that day on both princesses played together and had a lot of fun. Saachi also played some magic tricks on the guards and maids.
