Christmas
The snows coming down,
I'm watching it fall.
Lots of people around,
Daddy please come home.
The church bells in town,
Are all ringing in song.
Lots of beautiful sounds,
Daddys not around.
They're saying deck the halls,
But its not like Christmas at all,
Not when I remember you were here,
All the fun we had that year.
Pretty lights on the tree,
You should be here with me,
I'm watching them sparkle and shine,
This Christmas, it's time,
Daddy please come home.
Even if there was a way,
I wouldn't hold back these tears,
It's Christmas day,
Dad, you've been gone eight years!
People stand in hope,
Under the mistletoe.
The memories are evoked,
As Christmas becomes a new low.
You've missed so much,
You have a grandson now,
It'll be in Christmas' to come,
I'll have to explain somehow.
Christmas trees up,
And you know I'll find a way,
To let him know you love him so much,
I'll tell him that's what his angel says.
