Poppy Fields

The poppies have grown,

Over the melted earth of your latest battle,

It left you scarred,

Cuts bleeding down your arms,

Leaving rends in your flesh.

A hydra and dragon,

Clashed together,

The hydra attacked by her love,

The dragon setting his minions upon her,

The hydra refusing to fight back,

Against their cruel onslaughts.

It took time,

But your cuts are healing,

Your heart is still beating,

It still hurts to hear of him,

But his ghost will stop haunting you,

As poppies grow over the pain.

You've reached your fifteenth milestone,

On the winding road of life,

Red fields grow as far as the eye can see,

On either side of the road,

Leading to your dreams.

It took time and tenderness,

Combined with your strength,

But you made it,

All you have to do is remember,

That you're never truly alone,

On this journey.
