The Devil's Weapon

Can you feel it crawling up your spine?
Hear it scream in your ear, "you are mine?"
It clouds your mind with deceit and lies,
It never rests and it never dies.

Fear backs you into that dark, cold room,
The one that will soon become your tomb.
It suffocates you with it's iron grip
Until you let yourself go and slip.

The Devil's favorite weapon is fear,
For it's damage is monstrous, severe.
It can swallow it's poor victims whole,
It can take away your very soul.

The Devil will use fear to strike you,
And there is nothing that you can do.
He'll make you feel so weak that you cry,
Will relish the moment that you die.

Nobody can escape from this fear,
They can only see that death is near.
