Magical Adventures 1

When I was little and the water would run out of the tub and down the drain after my bath I'd wonder where it went and what would happen if I went down the drain with the water. That was the beginning of this fairy tale.

I was playing with my toy fish and lobster and mermaid in the tub. Mommy told me to pull out the plug and let the water out. I pulled the plug. The water swirled down and down and down the drain.

Oh no! It pulled me down the drain too! I went spinning down, down, down, and then ker-splash! I landed in the ocean!

I didn't know what to do. So I started swimming.

So I swam and swam and swam.

At last I saw some fish.

"What kind of fish are you?" one asked me.

"I'm not a fish," I said. "I'm a little girl. I'm lost and I want to go home!"

"We only know where fish live, not little girls," another fish said. "Go and ask the lobsters."

So I swam and swam and swam.

At last I saw some lobsters.

"What kind of lobster are you?" one asked me.

"I'm not a lobster," I said. "I'm a little girl. I'm lost and I want to go home!"

"We only know where lobsters live, not little girls," another lobster said. "Go and ask the mermaids."

So I swam and swam and swam.

At last I saw some mermaids.

"What kind of mermaid are you?" one asked me.

"I'm not a mermaid," I said. "I'm a little girl. I'm lost and I want to go home!"

"We only know where mermaids live, not little girls," another mermaid said. "Go and ask Father Neptune."

So I swam and swam and swam. I was really really tired by now.

At last I saw King Neptune's palace.

"Why are you here, little girl?" King Neptune asked me. "You do not belong here. You are not a fish or a lobster or a mermaid."

"I'm lost and I want to go home!" I said.

"Then so you shall!" King Neptune said. He raised his giant fork and everything started spinning and spinning and…

I blinked and watched the last of the water go down the drain. I was back in my home in my bath tub!

"Bath's over," Mommy said.

I hugged her. "I'm home, Mommy!" I said.

"Where else would you be?" Mommy said as she dried me off with a towel.

"I went down the drain with the water," I told her. "I asked the fish and the lobsters and the mermaids how to get home but none of them knew. Then I asked King Neptune and he sent me home!"

"That's nice," Mommy said, picking me up. "Let's get your pajamas on and you can tell Daddy about your adventures when he gets home."

And that was my first adventure.
