Bright-eyed boy full of hopes and dreams
Packed up his backs and gathered a team

Wanted adventure, a life, and a girl
He'd kiss her lips and call her his world

Through caverns he'd crawl and great mountains he'd climb
Oh the things he would see! The treasure he'd fine!

A life's not worth living if not for the fun
The danger, the greatness, and the thrill of the run

Mean dragons, a castle, through the heat and the cold
Fighting through battles with his heart of gold

Bright-eyed boy would return home someday
And tell of his tales while he's old and gray

The children would laugh and the crowds would all cry
And he'd sit and relive the grand life that had passed him by

But, alas, this dream was just in his head
And he learned that he would never be able to leave his bed

Bright-eyed boy dreamed, not cried
Until one day he closed those eyes
