Tears stain my lashes,

Saline, wet, and cold,

Freely flowing down my cheeks.

They leave stains there, too.

Like the ones on my heart-

Bleeding and torn as it is.

As it forever shall be.

These tears, eventually, will dry,

Stains of salt lines will be no longer visible,

And you may forget

I ever cried for you.

But I shall not.

I will think back and remember this pain.

The silent suffering,

The lies and false smiles.

I will remember these tears,

Forever tattooed

Upon my weeping soul.
