It was that Peter guy I was with last night just I knew it… he was even wearing the exact same rock star pants. His eyes shown recognition, but something else… fear.
"Excuse me? My name isn't Peter. You must have me confused with someone else." He could be right or lying. So I did something stupid, I kissed him. It was a slow kiss; I slowly wrapped my arms around him, getting closer to his warm body. After his initial surprise, he started to enjoy the kiss, wrapping his arms around me, and I hated to admit it the liar turns out to be one d*** good kisser.
"You're Peter you kiss like him, and you wouldn't kiss a total stranger like that." He would make out with women he met and danced with at a bar, but I didn't say that out loud.
His eye flickered with glee and a little bit of lust, but still kept up the ruse. "Is that what you do to every random guy you meet?"
"Only with the cute ones." I said flirtatiously. He smiled.
"Maybe, but you are a liar."
"You are so hell bent on trying to prove yourself right." He said with a little irritation. I have seen people to realize that they get angry when close to exposure… I learned that from a spy show called Burn Notice.
"Maybe you are so hell bent on being wrong." I didn't know who this guy was or why he was lying to me. I could see in his eyes that he recognized me.
How could he remember yesterday? Only Shana and I know about yesterday! I thought.
"Do you wanna dance?" By the look of Peter's expression he was caught off guard by my question, but he smiled his pretty boy smile and nods.
I took his warm hands into mine and we headed towards the dancing mob. After a couple of songs passed by I choose to kick start our conversation again.
"Why did you decide to dance with the crazy girl?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
He shrugged and wrapped his arm around my waist almost touching my a$$. "I don't know. You seem different, and being hot doesn't hurt." He said, and it might have been he only honest thing he has said to me ever.
When our song finishes I started to walk away.
"Where are you going?" Peter asked, with a little tension in his voice.
"I'm going to get us some drinks." I said in my most innocent sounding voice.
"I can go instead!"
"Why?" I asked confused.
"Isn't it usually the guy's job to buy drinks?"
"What are you, sexist?" I said and walked away. I knew he wouldn't follow me he hasn't got the nerve.
Wow, he sounded desperate. Why would Mr. Lie to Me Jacobson want to get the alcohol? I thought.
I approached Shana with an 'uh oh' look. She ignored it (I had forgotten she's drunk).
"How was your trip to the land of the toilet?" She asked (which I have to admit made me burst into laughter).
"I ran into a little friend of ours." I said pointing to Peter who was waiting around for our cocktails.
"How the hell did he get here?" She yelled, and everyone, including Peter turned to Shana.
"Sorry, she's drunk." I said apologetically, and everyone turned away.
"You can see Jack later Shana," I told her while stealing her glass.
"Right now I need two good hard drinks." I said looking in her glazed green eyes which cleared as I uttered those last few words.
"This is going to be fun," Shana said grinning from ear to ear.
That's my girl. I thought smiling maliciously.
With focus that a drunk girl shouldn't have been capable of Shana made another flawless Janet Special (with something special in it just for Peter).
"Thanks Shana, you are the best bartender ever!" I said as I hugged her (which she doesn't like, but I do it anyways). I grabbed the glasses and walked to Peter, blurting out, "Have fun with Jack. Be gentle with him."
"He is always gentle to me." She said as she sipped from her glass.
When I returned Peter looked relieved, I handed him his drink and he sniffed it. "What is this?"
"You'll like it, it's made special, just for you. Hee hee hee." You will see why I am laughing soon enough.
I watched him as he sipped the alcohol down, and I couldn't help but to laugh some more.
"What's so funny?" He asked.
"I get giggly when I am drunk." I lied casually.
"I thought you were the meanest drunk of all."
Bingo. Gotcha Liar.
"Aha, I caught you! You are Peter Jacobson, and I got to ask now. Why are you lying to me?"
You see the Janet Special goes by another name, Truth Serum. Of course, guys would not buy a drink that makes it easier for them to tell the truth. The truth is the last thing they want to say if they want to "get lucky". So we had to give it another name, we called it the Janet Special because I am the first one to try it, no one would expect something called the Janet Special to make them tell the truth, and because I am (pretty much) the only person that buys the drink. I asked Shana to put some "stuff" in Peter's to make it even easier for him to spill the beans, so to speak. The Truth Serum doesn't work on me though I drank to many for it to work on me (same thing for Shana, but she is smart enough not to risk it. Last time she drank too many and told me about a fantasy she had about her and an anime character).
"What is in that d $& drink?" He asked with anger.
"Dunno, Shana won't tell me. Now, drink up and spill it."
He sighed and admitted defeat. "Fine, but can we do this somewhere private?"
"No not there..." I had the feeling he was going to add yet, but decided not to. "I know the perfect place." He took me by my hand, (which surprisingly gave me goose bumps) and lead me to some unknown place.
Good thing I am clutching a hard drink; I'm gonna need it. I thought.
