Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
By: Krissie
If you're wondering who I am
Stomp your feet down
Stomp it loudly so it makes a sound
Make sure the echoes will always resound
It's time to bring the stupid levels down
It's time to stand up and take your star
Stand up and be who you truly are
I am so much
I am so little
You can only tell so much
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
A message is a message.
It passes down along the ages
What is the message you give out
Where's the pride
The one that makes us ride
Do you not have it?
Are we all cursed upon some odd divide
Do you not think anymore?
I see the world
I'm just one little girl
But I see the world.
Let me tell you.
Why the sky's blue.
To my locker I go.
Just like every day, you know.
Then from behind,
A young curly hair man grabs me
He looks kind
"You can't go this way."
So he tells me.
I tilt my head and say,
"Why? I'm going to my locker."
My keys in hand
Gesturing toward the grey locker
"You're not allowed to go to your locker after the bell."
What the hell?
Rings through my mind.
Calming quickly,
Asking sweetly
"Why?" I respond
He simply shrugs.
He doesn't know?
"It's the new rule."
Well, if that's all you can give
You are so uncool.
You can't even make it to the pool.
Another teacher lady
Says we were all informed
I gasp
Shock upon my face
What you talking about?
The first time I'm hearing this, is today
What does it matter anyway?
I must make it to my bus
Soon Walker will be in the lot
But until then, I'll let my calm rot
The questioning rebellion
It boils inside of me
Oh, can't you see?
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
That's what they're showing me
That's what they're telling me
That's what they're showing us
That's what they're telling us.
How can I be proud?
How can I have pride in you?
Oh, my country's flag of red, white, and blue.
How can I believe in you?
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
Is this all you have to say
Is that all you have to say
Well, okay.
Let me correct you
That's not how we should behave
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
You're keeping me from getting the books
I need to do my homework
Come one Rockdale
This isn't Stupid-dale
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
You're sending me home with books
I don't need, now I'm getting weird looks
Come on Rockdale
This isn't Stupid-dale!
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
Think a bit
It's not that hard to get.
Just have seat.
I'll tell you how to make this neat.
I am not a fool.
We are not fools
We are able to see.
We are able to be
Ourselves
We are growing
If you're really here to help
If you're really here to help
You would see that this just isn't right
You would turn on the light
We need to stomp our feet down.
Stomp loudly as to make a sound.
Make sure the echoes will always resound
Let's show them,
Let's tell them
Let's make them
See the error of their ways
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
Isn't a good message
To write down for the ages
I want to have a little pride
For this crazy ride
That I can cling to!
As I watch the sky change from blue!
I attend here!
I live here!
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
Just won't do.
It just won't do.
"Hi! Welcome to Rockdale! Where even the teachers don't have common sense!"
