Today started out like every other day for me. I got up slowly, and headed towards the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day ahead of me. As soon as I got out of the shower something felt different to me. Something didn't feel right at all, I carefully walked out of the bathroom and into my room. I put on a silvery dress and silver heals the two things I wore every day. I never wore flip flops, tennis shoes or boots. I wore heals, the only time I wore pants was to sleep at night. I only wore dresses; my closet was full of them. I heard a light knock on my door. It had to be my brother Logan. He opened the door a few seconds later. He looked at me and shook his head. He was constantly amazed that I could wear dresses in any type of weather.

"Are you gonna go to my game later on today?" He asked me and I nodded shrugging my shoulders. Logan plays hockey and his team plays a game every week. They are very good. I usually went to them. I had nothing better to do, I was done with school. Logan and I are twins, but because of my gift my mother wanted me to be home schooled. I worked ahead and I'm done. My mother wouldn't let me go to a University without Logan, so I had to wait until next year. He nodded his head. "I'll see you at the rink then." I nodded back at him and he left my room. I let out a deep breath and sat down on my bed. This was the only part I hated about my days, being left alone in my house. I would, on occasion, sneak out and go see a movie. All the movies that were out I saw. If my mom knew I was sneaking out during the day I would be dead.

I walked out of my room and headed to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water. As I walked to the kitchen I began thinking about the hockey game for some reason. I felt as if I shouldn't go, like something would happen if I went there. I quickly shrugged off the feeling, I got that feeling a lot, I was used to it by now. If it got stronger throughout the day I wouldn't go. I grabbed the glass from the counter in front of me and filled it with water before walking into the living room. I sat down on the black couch and set the glass on the wooden table in front of me. I turned on the TV, and began flipping through the channels. Hopefully I could find something that I wanted to watch. The first channel I landed on was showing, Titanic. I laughed slightly. Some parts of the movie were true, and others were not even close at all.

I should know, I was there. Well, not technically, I went back in time and experienced the sinking, twice. That was my power; I could go back in time to any period in time. I loved going back to the Civil War, I wasn't sure why but I loved it there. I was what some called a 'traveler' I could travel back in time and never die. I wasn't sure if I could actually never die, but when I went back in time I couldn't. I learned that from my first Titanic experience. I wanted to see how long I could last, I lasted pretty long, however that cold water got to me, I closed my eyes and I was lying in my own bed again. It was the weirdest thing ever. The next time I survived, experiencing what happened to all those people was something that I will never forget. I can't stand to watch the end of Titanic, which is the part that hits me most; it was probably because I experienced that. Thank god it was the beginning of the movie.

I watched the rest of the movie, or what I wanted to watch before hearing my phone ring from the next room over, I got up and went to see who the text was from, it was Shea, one of my best friends. I have known him ever since we moved here. He was with me the day that my uncle died, trying to save me.

When I was younger my Uncle took me to a local baseball game. It was a great baseball game, after the game was over we began walking towards his car. This young man came walking towards us. He wanted to know how to get somewhere in town.

"I'm Sorry, we don't live around here" My uncle said lying. The young man looked at my uncle. The man's green eyes were staring at my uncle. "Leave us alone Luke" He grabbed my hand and we continued walking. I heard Luke's footsteps following us. We came up to a traffic light and stopped. When the signal told us to go, my uncle wouldn't move. He slowly collapsed to the ground, there I saw the knife stabbed into his back. Luke picked up the knife and he grabbed my wrist. He cut a line on the palm of my hand, a deep cut.

"I'll be back for you later." He said disappearing, I screamed. The family that was on the other side of the sidewalk came running to help. The mother and father called for help and the two brothers stood next to me.

"Hi, I'm Shea," The youngest one said. That was how I met Shea, he had been watching over me ever since.

I had to shake my head from remembering that day. I rarely thought about it, I barely knew about my powers, my uncle was telling me about them that day. He only told me a little about them. That night my mom had to tell me the rest. That for my whole life, I would be hunted, by Malfaeros. Our kind was rare, I would always be hunted until I was dead. That is the main reason why I'm home schooled. There were good Malfaeros also, protect us travelers, and there weren't . So far, I've done a good job of keeping myself out of trouble.

'You are so lucky that you are done with School' He said to me and I laughed, reading the text. I responded with a 'I worked hard and graduated early, its not my fault' I sent him in a response. I shook my head at him. He was always the prankster, my mother constantly told me that he liked me. I ignored her. I grabbed my phone and walked back into the living room. I put on another movie before moving into the kitchen. I always made the boys cookies for after their games. I don't know how that started, but it was a trade off, I gave them cookies and they all acted like my older brothers. It was a win-win situation in my opinion. I wanted all of the protection that I could get. I had never come across another Malfaero and I never wanted to, but from what I remember, they were strong.

I began to make the cookies, taking my time, I had all day to do it. That is one thing I hated, about not going to school was there is almost too much time. There are only so many times you can watch a movie before it becomes old and boring. Logan doesn't take a full schedule so he spends some time with me. I heard my phone going off from next to me. It was Shea, 'You going to the game tonight, its the first one of the season?' Is what appeared on my screen. I ignored the text until I was done making the cookie batter. I replied with a 'yes', before placing the dough on the cookie sheet. I placed the sheets into the oven and walked back over to the couch where some TV show was playing. I thought about what I could do, half of me was screaming to take a trip, to go somewhere in time, anywhere. The other half of me was worried that something bad would happen if I did go back in time.

Traveling was a painless experience, I did it every night almost. It always happens when i'm sleeping, at night ill think of somewhere or some time in history that I want to go to, and I go there. Its almost like a dream, but I can remember every thing that happened. I don't forget these events, they stay with me. For years, Logan has tried to tell me a dream that he has had the previous night, and he can never remember them, but I can always tell him where I had travel to the previous night. It wasn't that hard, I just had to think of a period before I fell asleep at night. I always went where I wanted to, some times, if I didn't think of a certain period to travel to, I would go to a period that I would usually travel to. I never went somewhere I didn't want to, thankfully.

I found some random Lifetime movie to watch while I finished baking the cookies for the game tonight. I placed the freshly baked cookies onto the plate before wrapping them up, once Logan got home from school, he would want to find a way to get them. I became a master at persuading him to wait for the game. I walked back over to the couch and laid down, It was only the beginning of the school year and I was already bored out of my mind, I had nothing to do during the days. I kept on bringing up to my mother that I should get a job, but she kept on blowing me off, like the idea of working was crazy. It was a loud banging that brought me out of my thoughts. I jumped up and ran into my room. I grabbed my pink Lacrosse stick out from under my high teal bed. I hadn't played lacrosse in years, but I was pretty good at knocking the ball out of the other people's stick, I was the player always in the penalty box.

I slowly walked past the living room and towards the door, hearing the banging come more frequently than before. I took one hand off of the stick to wipe it off, then I did the same to the other. I hoped a Malfaero wasn't trying to get in. All my protection was this Lacrosse stick, and I was frightened. I would be nothing against a Malfaero with this stick, they had powers that most of us Travelers didn't know about. I don't know any Malfaeros, or any Travelers that have been killed by them. My hands slowly began to shake, it was becoming hard for me to breath. As I got closer I heard the door knob rattling. I took a deep breath before looking through the peephole. It was Logan, I let out a huge sigh of relief. I opened the door for him, he walked through the door and closed it behind him. Before he could say or do anything, I began to hit him with my Lacrosse stick. "Thats for scaring me!" I yelled, staying each word with a hit. He grabbed the stick out of my hand so I would stop beating him.

"I'm sorry, but its not my fault that someone always keeps their phone on silent." He stated disappearing down the hallway. I walked over to the table where my phone lay. I unlocked it and saw I had two missed calls from Logan, and a few text messages. The first couple were him saying he left his keys at home, the third one was asking if I was okay. I carried my phone to the kitchen with me where I saw Logan eating a cookie.

"Logan, I swear, if you don't put the cookies back." I said to him. He gave me a look as I walked closer, he stuffed the rest of the cookie into his mouth, I walked a little closer. He picked up my lacrosse stick that had been leaning against the wooden island in the middle of the kitchen.

"Don't make me use it." He somehow managed to say with all of the cookie stuffed in his mouth. I just looked at him in disbelief. He slowly put the Lacrosse stick back down and walked out of the kitchen. I lifted up the foil to see how many cookies he had eaten while I was distracted. I was thankful that it wasn't many at all. I wrapped them back up and walked into my room. I walked over to my dresser and stared at myself in the mirror. Even in different time periods I looked the same. I had the same long dark brown hair that curled and ended at my mid back, longer when I straightened it. I grabbed my hair and pulled it all to my left side. I leaned against the wooden top, and stared at myself. Sometimes I hated looking at myself, it was a constant reminder that Luke was after me, I wanted to change how I looked but I couldn't. Even by dying my hair I stayed the same. I had the same big bright green eyes. "By staring at yourself in the mirror, you wont change." I let out a deep breath, he was right. He was lucky he wasn't there that day. He would be as defenseless as I was, if not more.

"I know, I just wish there was something that I could do." I said to him and he nodded. We looked so different, he had blonde hair and dark brown eyes. I wished that I could change how I looked, I'd give anything not to look like this. I took a deep breath, Logan was right. I would never admit it to him, but he was. I shook my head gathering myself from my thoughts.

"Do you want to head with me down to the rink? It would be better then you staying here and being depressed." He said tossing my Lacrosse stick on my bed. I turned away from the mirror and glared at him.

"I am not depressed!" I said to him, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I grabbed my black purse from the counter in front of me and walked into the kitchen and grabbed the cookies. Logan walked into the living room with his black hockey bag hung around his shoulder. In one of his hands was my ice skates. I smiled at him, he knew that I was gonna need those. The coach would let me skate around before all of the guys would warm up. None of the guys even bothered bugging me, I only did it when I needed to think. "Thanks Logan." I said to him and he nodded.

"No problem." He replied. I walked over to him and grabbed the skates from his hand. I followed him out the door of the house, I locked it behind me. I placed my skates in the bed of my brothers truck. I got into the passenger seat and waited for him to drive off to the rink. The school wasn't that far away from our house, the rink that they played at was a few miles past the high school.

Once we arrived at the rink, I grabbed my ice skates, purse and the cookies before following Logan to the locker room, I didn't go in, but instead I went to the door next to their room. It was just a little dressing area, but it was my room, where I hid the cookies. I opened the door and set the cookies down on the counter and went to put on my white ice skates. That was something else that I messed up on in my life. From what I was told, I was an amazing ice skater, and I gave that all up. I quit practicing and only skated when I just needed to think. It seemed like once I found out I was a traveler, my life was ruined. I figured that since I wasn't gonna live long, why should I even try?

I laced up my skates and headed out to the rink. It had been a while since I last came to the rink, I stepped out onto the ice and it was like a huge weight had been lifted from me. I skated around the rink for a bit, I loved the sound of skates on a fresh piece of ice, it made me smile. As I became more comfortable with the ice, I would skate backwards and do a few things that I had learned. Of course, this is all stuff I had been skating since I was small. I could have been in the Olympics but I gave up, and I cant go back on that now. I skated around the rink for a minute or so before I decided to try a Lutz, it was my favorite jump something I mastered easily. I skated around before attempting the jump. The take off was perfect, I kept my focus on the landing, until I heard a voice. "Hey!" The male yelled. My concentration was gone and I fell onto the ice.

"Damn" I said to myself. I looked up from the ice and saw a male getting on to the ice. He was dressed in his uniform. I slowly managed to get up. The ice was a lot colder than I remembered. I flattened out my silver skirt and watched as the male skated over to where I was.

"You aren't supposed to be out here. Don't you realize that there is a hockey game thats gonna happen soon?" He asked me, I could hear a faint accent. Well, he isn't gonna get any cookies. I just looked up at him, He was a taller than me. I came to just under his chin. He had captivating icy blue eyes, and I could see dark brown hair sticking out of his black helmet. He had to be new, I stared at him blankly.

"Yes I do realize that." I replied to him, it was his turn to stare at me. So much for my time to think, but I wasn't gonna let him get to me. I skated away from him, I took a few deep breath's to try and calm myself. This guy would learn as soon as another team member came on to the ice. Hopefully it would be sooner than later.

"Look, I'm sorry but you need to get off of the ice." He said to me.

"I know." I said to him, but I wasn't planning on leaving. Some part of me was telling me to leave the ice now, and the other half was telling me to skate around the ice a few more times. He just stood in the middle of the rink with his arms folded across his chest.

"Charlie!" I heard a familiar voice yell, it was my brothers friend Sam. I skated over to him and gave him a hug. I hadn't seen him in a while. He had been busy most of the summer, so he was rarely around. "I hope Jared isn't giving you much trouble around here." I looked over at the guy, Jared. I watched as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Nope Sam, he was perfectly fine." I said smiling at both of them. Sam gave me a look that said I better not be lying. "I better be going, I have to go find a seat before the arena gets too crowded. I said looking up into the stands. I heard Sam chuckle from next to me. I skated over to Jared in the middle of the ice. "It was nice to meet you, I'm Charlotte." I stuck out my hand for a shake, He took off his glove and shook my hand. As soon as his hand touched mine I felt a shock, I pulled my hand away immediately. I looked up at him, like I had known that face my entire life. As if when I saw him only a few seconds ago I didn't fully know him when he was skate stalking me."Chris." I whispered to him. He looked at me like I had just cursed in front of him.

"What did you say?" He asked me, I jumped and my eyes went wide. I turned around and skated out of the rink. I didn't want to even think about what happened, but I knew in my heart that he was in one of the periods I went to. I didn't want to think if he was a Traveler or Malfaero, they both had the same power. One was good, and the other was evil. I tried to go back in time to see what happened, what happened to make them start fighting. I passed through the players one by one, each of them saying hello to me. I replied with a hello back. Logan somehow knew that something was wrong.

"Whats wrong?" Logan asked me following me to my little room. "I promise no one got to the cookies." I smiled at him, faking whatever I was worried about.

"Nothing, I'm fine. Good luck ill see you after the game." With that, I went into my little room and sat down on the couch, letting out all of the air that I had apparently been holding in my lungs. I undid my skates and put back on my silver heels. I grabbed my purse and walked to the front of the rink. I walked to my usual seats I sat down and watched the teams warm up. I kept my eye on number 64, that new guy, Jared. I wanted to find out where I knew him from, I never felt that spark before, it was so weird.

"Hey Charlie,"I heard Shea say from behind me, I looked up at him and smiled. He stepped on one of the seats and sat down next to me. I smiled at him and I watched him look at my outfit. "Seriously Char, you cant wear jeans to the games?" He asked me and I shook my head.

"It would ruin my reputation." I said to him and he laughed. I looked at Shea, he was lucky. He didn't have to worry about anyone killing him. I was glad that Luke disappeared before Shea came around. I didn't want to have another death on my hands because of who I am.

"Did you bring me a cookie?" He asked and I shook my head. I had forgotten all about it. I usually made one for him, but I was too distracted this time to bring one for him. "It's okay, you just have to bring me two next time." He said. I nodded my head and laughed slightly. Shea and I sat in our seats and watched the game. I was curious to see what would happen this year with the team. I knew most of the guys from last year, but how good could the new guy be? I was curious to find out.

The game seemed to game seemed to go by quickly. With five minutes left in the 3rd period, the score was 3-2. Thankfully, we were winning. I always seemed to get nervous when Logan was out on the ice, I always hoped that nothing bad happened to him. Maybe that was because my mother never came to a single game of his, so I was almost like the mother figure, even thought that sounds so weird. The team managed to win their first game. "See you later." Shea said to me before I could even stand up. I smiled at him and nodded. I got up and headed back down to the locker room before any of the guys got there. That was one thing I hated about going into the locker room after the game, they all stunk. That is why my lovely brother found the room next to locker room, once the boys were done with their team meeting and whatever else they had to do.

I waited in the room for the guys to come in, Logan and Sam were always the ones to come in last. They wanted the leftover cookies. Slowly, one by one the players came in, they would take a few cookies and say thanks. Like usual, Logan and Sam walked in last, with Jared. "Yes!" Sam said, he grabbed a cookie and stuffed it in his mouth before giving me a hug and picking me off of the ground. "Thank you." He said through the cookies in his mouth.

"Your welcome," I said with a smile. Sam put me down and Jared walked over to me. With my heels on, I came to his nose. "You can have a cookie to." I said to him and he smiled.

"Look, I'm sorry about earlier." He said to me and I smiled. I picked up the cookies and offered him one, and he took it. Logan took the cookie plate from me and someone grabbed my wrist. I looked behind me and it was Sam. It took me a few seconds to realize why. I felt a sharp pain on my wrist, Something else that I had never felt before.

"It's black." Sam whispered to me in a low voice. Sam was the only other person besides my family who knew about my powers. I had a tattoo of a Plumeria on my wrist, it was usually pink, I heard that when in the presence of a Malfaero, the tattoo turns black. My uncle told me that before he died, he was a Traveler also. I nodded and freed my wrist from his grasp.

"I feel fine." I whispered back, but that was a lie. My wrist hurt just a little. I shook it off and walked over to grab my skates. When I looked back up Logan and Sam were gone. I looked up and Jared stood there.

"I am sorry about earlier, I really am." He said, I could really notice his accent this time. I turned around and looked at him, I shrugged my shoulders.

"Its fine." I said to him and he nodded.

"Let me make it up to you. I'm sure you would have made that jump if I hadn't said a thing." I laughed slightly. There was no way that this guy was interested in me in any way.

"Its fine Jared. Don't worry about it."

"How about your lunch at school?"

"I don't go to the same school as you guys, I graduated early." I explained to him and he nodded. I walked over to the door to walk out after Logan and Sam.

"Rachel," He said to me and I froze. Rachel was my identity when I traveled to different time periods. I knew that we were connected somehow. Chris, that name, was so familiar to me, it was on the tip of my tongue, yet I couldn't remember it.

"Goodnight Jared." I said before walking out, once I got out I practically ran to Logan's truck.
