"What the hell are you doing?" he snapped and moved to snatch the papers away from him. Nate laughed and moved them out of his reach. Skylar made a futile atemp to get them again. "The TACR? Really?" Nate said. Anger and frustration swirled around Skylar's head. "Give them back," he spat. "Or else what? You gunna call some secret agent on me?" he continued to make fun of him...

Chapter 2: Arrival
"Can you slow down?" Skylar gripped the door next to him as Caroline sped, way above the speed limit, to their destination.
"Why?" she asked giving him a puzzling look.
"Maybe because you're going to get us killed?"
"I went faster on the way over here." Skylar felt scared of her driving. "Do you get car sick easily?" she asked.
"I don't know. I've never been driven by a reckless teenager."
"Just because we're young doesn't change our driving skills," she told him but he felt the car slow dramatically.
"Where does the agency get the money for this kind of stuff anyways?" It was a nice car. It even still smelled new.
"We just save up. We have kind of a fundraising buisness."
"What? What kind of buisness?"
"A large mix from computer programs to duct tape wallets." Caroline took a hard right onto a smaller road. "It depends on the person's skills and preferences."
"What?" That made no sense to him.
"Many of the people at the Agency have small buisnesses. There's no work nearby so they sell products online. Some of the profit is recieved by the agency."
"Isn't that illegal?"
"No. All the materials are bought from the agency so then they get profit from that. You'll learn all this eventually."
"Okay," he said as Caroline took a left and entered a heavily wooded area. He wondered how far from the city they were.
"We're almost there."
"How much longer exactly?"
"I don't know. I'm not used to driving this slowly down here."
"That's kind of concerning."
"It'll just be a few more minutes. It's just a couple more miles."
"Miles? You weren't kidding when you said there isn't any jobs nearby."
"No. I wasn't." She weaved between the gaps between the trees on the road that was growing narrower and narrower by the second. "There's no bus down here so you have to walk about three miles to the nearest station if you want to go out."
"What about the car?"
"They're only used for assignments. We're here," she told him even as she pulled out of the forest into a wide area. Skylar had to take a second to absorb everything. The place was huge. He could see about five large buildings. All brick. Some had pictures that had probably been painted on them. They were pretty paintings featuring flowers, various animals, and people that seemed to be enjoying themselves doing whatever."I'll take you to the registration. Technically your files are already in our system but that was before it was confirmed that you were coming."
"Okay," he said still absorbing everything around him. "I know I've already asked you but how the hell do they afford this?" Caroline laughed a little as a response. She pulled into a parking space and cut the engine.
"Come on," she said getting out. Skylar eagerly followed, curious of what else this place contained. They walked into the building into a long hallway and then Caroline led him up to a desk.
Another girl, a couple years younger than them, looked up and asked, "What?"
"New kid named Skylar," Caroline replied.
"Oh okay," the younger girl said. She stood up and looked around behind her. "Unfortunately it looks like Kitty and Snowy aren't around. Do you mind giving him the run down?" Kitty and Snowy? Skylar thought.
"Sure. I have been for awhile anyways," Caroline told her. "Can I just have a list for what I have to show him?"
"Yeah, sure." She got up and walked over to a printer. She drummed her fingers while waiting for it to print. Caroline took the sheet from her.
"Thanks," she turned her attention to Skylar. "C'mon." They walked away from the desk. "Alright whats on the list?" She took him through the dorms, cafe, gyms, training rooms, classrooms, and just about everything else on the property from the swimming pool to the animal shelter. "You can go back to your room. I think that's everything. You just have to go to that one room I told you about earlier at 10:00 tomorrow. Don't be too worried about being late. You most likely won't be the only one."
"Is there some kind of map I could use? This place is way to big."
"Umm, Yeah I can bring it to you by tomorrow if you like. I just have to go print it out."
"Okay," he said. "Guess I'll see you later then." He wasn't completely sure about being alone here. Plus he kinda liked Caroline. She'd been the first person to be at all nice to him for awhile.
"Yeah sure. Bye." She turned and walked away down the hall.
Skylar turned towards his own destination. The exit. The dorms were in a seperate building with half being girls and half being boys. None of the buildings were taller than one story, probably for safety and privacy. He walked out of the buildinf he was in and started toward the dorms. Every now and then he would pass somebody, minding their own buisness. He reached the dorms after a long walk and pushed through the doors. It took him a minute and three passes to find his room. When he did he felt relived and tossed his bag aside, flopping down on his bed. He took a second to think about everything. He still couldn't quite rap his head around the fact that some teenagers had managed to make this huge place. He sat up and reached over to his bag and pulled out all his clothes. There wasn't much. Three shirts, four jeans and two sweatshirts. The dresser that was in his room could easily fit five times that. His games fell out of his bag. A NanoVision and it's games. All of his stuff fit in the top drawer of his desser. A knock on his door broke his attention and he moved to answer it. Caroline handed him a map.
"There you go," she said and gave him a small smile. "I have to keep moving so I'll see you later. Hopefully."
"Okay," Skylar told her.
She left and Skylar went back to his bed and flopped down. Falling asleep with his clothes on a second time.
Yay! Chapter two is done. This is still fun to write. It takes alot of thinking though. Next time he's gunna actually go to some classes.
