I stumbled through the great perhaps.
Hoping that, by chance
I'd catch a distant glance
Of a form of you that can't collapse
Even against the force of times elapse.
A form that hasn't felt the fire's dance
And can stay with me to see the Earth's expanse.
The you before all my mishaps.
But time's cruel sway
Has turned the clock
And stolen you away.
So I will walk this land in shock
And see no light of day
for you were my only hope
