God knows you've tried.

Time after time,

But to no avail.

It's hard to get your head,

To agree.

Still you try.

There's no denying

What your heart tells.

But reason

Is with your head.

Baby steps, because

Rome wasn't built in a day,

Because you're only human,

Because you can't rush a heart.

So we forget, day by day.

We move on, slowly.
